There’s a lot of work being done over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort at Disney World.
The resort is currently undergoing a big Moana– themed refurbishment, and we’ve been following a lot of the construction progress!
Welcome back to another what’s new! Today, we visited the Disney resorts that are on the monorail loop!
While looking for the latest food, construction, and merchandise, we found some new holiday treats, an old favorite, and some transportation updates. So, let’s get started!
While there’s some merchandise that you can find all through Disney World no matter where you go, there are some spots with really unique (and sometimes incredibly delicious) items you can only get there, and sometimes they develop a bit of a following.
That seems to be the case with the Honolulu Cookie Company cookies that used to be available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! We hadn’t spotted these cookies at this hotel for a WHILE, but recently we noticed…they are back!
It may only be November, but we are already stocking up on ALL the holiday merchandise and holiday snacks.
If you’re a big pin collector, we’ve spotted some cute holiday pins as well, but recently we spotted even more — and these are each themed to the different Disney World Resort hotels!

Slowly but surely, fan-favorite offerings are returning to Disney World — even when it comes to transportation!
Boat transportation has been suspended in many locations throughout Disney World. Now, they’re BACK in running again from Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian and the Poly.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has served up some iconic drinks over the years, including the Lapu Lapu from Tambu Lounge, and of course the wide array of legendary libations at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.
Over at Barefoot Pool Bar, however, we think we just discovered another drink to enter the Polynesian Hall of Fame, and it even came with a fun holiday twist!
The sparkliest cupcake this side of the Seven Seas Lagoon just got a late autumn makeover!

Halloween Cupcake With Rocky Road
You may recall the Rocky Road Cupcake, which glittered and glistened its way back into Captain Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this year as one of the many Halloween treats that hit the scene. Though Spooky Season has ended (and, ICYMI, the holidays are pretty much HERE!), you can still enjoy it… but in a new way! [Read more…]
There are lots of changes to the transportation options at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort today!
As a part of the MAJOR renovation going on at the Polynesian through Summer 2021, the monorail station has CLOSED. For those staying in the DVC Villas and Bungalows, there is now Disney bus transportation available!
