Pandora’s Pongu Pongu No Longer Serving Signature Snack, Pongu Lumpia
Animal Kingdom’s Pandora — The World of AVATAR is known for a few of its more unique eats almost as much as it’s well known for the land’s headliner attractions and remarkable atmosphere.
For instance, the Night Blossom at Pongu Pongu — Pandora’s beverage and snack stop — has been a huge hit. So much so, that this drink has also received a spiked makeover with a recently added Rum Blossom version.
The drinks have been such a huge hit that perhaps they’ve overshadowed what was supposed to be Pongu Pongu’s signature snack: the Pongu Lumpia. Because on our visit to Pongu Pongu today, we realized that the Pongu Lumpia is no longer listed on the menu. [Read more…]

Polynesian’s Tambu Lounge Closed for Refurbishment (And Where You Can Still Get Your Lapu Lapu!)
We have known for some time now that the Polynesian Village Resort’s Tambu Lounge would be closing for a refurbishment. However, the exact date of the closure (originally slated to begin in July) kept changing.
We can now report that the Tambu Lounge is closed (for at least a few months). But there are two temporary locations set up during the refurbishment where you can still order up some Polynesian beverage favorites!
The first temporary location is located by the Monorail doors. This location opens at 9:30am. No specific closing time is set for this location, but on the day of our visit it closed at 5:00 pm. [Read more…]

The early bird catches the Slinky Dog… because booking is now open for a new event in Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Disney Early Morning Magic at Toy Story Land!

The gist for this new event is the same: purchase of a limited-entry special ticket event — in addition to regular park admission — allows guests to enter the park early and have access to Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania! before the park’s regular opening and enjoy an included breakfast. Breaking: Plastic Straws are Now Available By Request Only at Several Disney World Restaurants
We reported on Disney’s conservation efforts announced earlier this summer. These efforts include refillable amenities in resort rooms and the reduction of plastic shopping bags as well as the reduction of plastic straws used at the resorts and restaurants by 2019.
So far, we have seen the refillable amenities showing up across the property.
Refillable amenities have been spotted by the DFB team at Port Orleans French Quarter, Caribbean Beach, Boardwalk Inn, and All-Star Music resorts.
But today, the DFB team has learned that some table service dining locations are starting to put plastic straws on a “request only” status for adults.
First Look and Review! The NEW 4Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck in Disney Springs is OPEN!
Look what just rolled into Disney Springs… the 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck!
Currently taking up residence in the Disney Springs Marketplace, the 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck is a new venture for the 4R Restaurant Group (home to the popular 4 Rivers Smokehouses in the Orlando area).
While Food Trucks are not new to Disney Springs, the 4R Cantina is the first non-Disney owned Food Truck to be regularly based in Disney Springs.
The 4 Rivers Smokehouses are well known in the area for serving up barbecue. However, 4 Rivers founder John Rivers shared the story behind the Food Truck’s cuisine. When Disney Springs approached Rivers with the idea of a partnership, it was understood that barbecue could not be the focus since The Polite Pig — operated by James and Julie Petrakis who are also known for their presence in the Orlando food scene — already serves up barbecue in Disney Springs.
So, Rivers was inspired to learn more about barbacoa, which takes traditional barbecue and layers it with Mexican flavors. Hence, the 4R Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck!
Atmosphere
You’ll find the new Food Truck just across from Ghirardelli, by Basin and World of Disney in the Marketplace. [Read more…]
