It’s Halloween season at Disney World — or is it?

Have you noticed that it just doesn’t FEEL the same in Disney World this year?? The “most spookiest time of the year” seems to have been pushed aside in favor of that other big thing that happened in October — the 50th Anniversary. Not to mention Christmas decorations (!!!) are already showing up on the scene! Honestly, it doesn’t feel like the Halloween we have come to look forward to at Disney World in past years. It got us wondering…did Disney World get cheated out of Halloween this year?
Despite delays from the global pandemic, Disney has still been cranking out new movies lately!

Some went straight to Disney+, like Mulan and Soul, some released in theaters, like Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and others went to both, like Black Widow and Jungle Cruise. There are even more exciting Disney movies ahead, and today, Pixar released a first look at the origin story of one of our favorite toys!
We love all kinds of treats here at the Disney Food Blog, especially fall-inspired snacks like the Pumpkin Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich or the (strange, but good) Monster drink. Throughout the month, we’ve tried tons of Halloween treats in Disney World, but there are still more new fall treats to taste!

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (A.K.A. the Star Wars hotel) officially opened on March 1st, 2022, and there is so much to explore!

There’s lightsaber training, unique food offerings (looking at you, blue shrimp), an immersive storyline, a trip to Galaxy’s Edge, and more. Booking windows initially opened early for select guests, like Annual Passholders, and then general booking opened on October 28th. Previously, reservations were only available through September, but now they’re available for the remainder of 2022. But, before you book, you should know that some dates have already filled up!

Even though spooky season isn’t over yet, Disney already has some holiday decorations up. The parks are gearing up for all of the festivities, with things like a special After Hours event happening in Magic Kingdom and new holiday merchandise. And, we have some exciting news! Here is a look at all the food coming this holiday season to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs (Don’t worry, Disney says the EPCOT foodie guide will be out soon)!
