Vegetables Unleashed — A Cookbook by Chef José Andrés is now available!
Every day, the opening of Jaleo in Disney Springs gets closer! The upcoming — and highly anticipated — restaurant by Chef José Andrés is no longer hidden behind construction walls.
Construction continues in earnest in Disney Springs’ West Side, where we’re eagerly awaiting the completion of the NBA Experience and Jaleo — with its quick service appendage Pepe. There’s been a lot of progress on both — including glorious copper-colored roofing at Jaleo!
How amazing is this roof design? The color seems to mimic Spanish roof tiles (concept art seemed to indicate a much more yellow/gold roof, so we’ll keep an eye on this), while the layers create visual interest.
Large lettering will spell J-A-L-E-O on windows spanning the entire building, and those seem to be up and completed! [Read more…]
We are eagerly awaiting the opening this winter season of Jaleo by Chef José Andrés in Disney Springs! To further whet our appetites, today José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup, in collaboration with renowned Spanish design firm Capella Garcia Arquitectura, has provided new artwork for the 22 thousand square foot restaurant which will serve the Chef’s authentic Spanish cuisine.

Are you — like us! — among those who are really excited for Jaleo by Chef José Andrés to open in Disney Springs?
Chef José Andrés has been nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for disaster relief work through World Central Kitchen, the non-profit organization he founded in 2010.
According to TIME magazine, in the eight years since World Central Kitchen was founded, hot meals have been served “to millions in disaster zones and difficult situations.” Among these, Chef Andrés with World Central Kitchen served over 3.5 million meals in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. And, more recently, World Central Kitchen has been feeding victims of the wildfires in California. This included a Thanksgiving dinner hosted with Guy Fieri and Tyler Florence feeding 15,000 survivors. [Read more…]
Disney Springs is home to quite a few great restaurants including Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen and Morimoto Asia. And by the end of 2018 it’ll be home to five new dining concepts! AAAH!
Two new restaurants will be opening in 2018, including Jaleo, a Spanish restaurant from Chef José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup. Jaleo will “feature an extensive menu of tapas that reflect the rich regional diversity of traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine, such as paella cooked over a wood fire, hand-carved Jamon Iberico de Bellota, and wood-grilled Iberico pork.”
