2023 appears to be something of a year of closures at Disney World. On January 22nd Splash Mountain ferried its last guests, and we said goodbye to Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular Disney Enchantment, which ended on April 2nd.
Not all of the closures are permanent, though. There are a fair amount of refurbishments happening across the resort as well. However, all of these changes aren’t limited to just attractions and shows.
We are so close to the opening of Roundup Rodeo BBQ! The journey to its debut hasn’t been particularly smooth, though.
The restaurant was originally set to open in 2022, but Disney then made an announcement in the middle of December 2022 that it would be open in spring of 2023. Now, we’ve got an official opening date and a FULL look at the menu, but we’ve also got another piece of critical information you need to know before eating at this restaurant.
California Grill is a Disney World ICON. The restaurant is located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the opening-day hotels, and is a fine dining establishment that has been recognized by the Michelin Guide.
During the 50th anniversary celebrations in Disney World California Grill premiered a special 3-course prix fixe menu with Californian cuisine and items inspired by the original restaurant menu that stood in its spot on opening day. Now, however, that menu is CHANGING, and we have details on the new pricing here.
Disney sure knows how to put on a MASSIVE celebration!
From special events and merchandise to delicious eats and treats — there are plenty of events throughout the year where you can expect a good time. Right now, we’re enjoying Celebrate Soulfully events at the Disney parks, and are eating our way through the list that Disney released of eats and drinks for the month-long celebration!
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is all about pop culture through the decades, which is why you’ll find things like ginormous versions of a Rubik’s Cube, Mickey telephone, yo-yo, jukebox, and more!
It’s also on the Skyliner, which means it’s super convenient for getting to other Skyliner resorts, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. So a LOT of guests choose to stay there — if you’re one of them, though, you might need to know more about the most IMPORTANT THING — where and what to eat!

In fact, Disney just announced quite a few deals and perks that might encourage you to plan a trip. A new Dining Card Promo was revealed that provides guests with money to spend at select Disney World restaurants when booking a hotel and tickets together in a package. Not only that, but there are room discounts available for Florida Residents, Annual Passholders, and regular resort guests. Can you believe that in a matter of months, it’ll be spring?
Springtime brings larger crowds to Disney World because of spring break, and we often see new eats arriving at the parks as well. That’s the case at Hollywood & Vine, which is a restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This spot hosts Minnie’s Seasonal Dine for lunch and dinner, which changes throughout the seasons and brings characters like Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and more to dine with you. Now we’ve got dates for when Springtime Dine and Summertime dine will return this year!
