These Earnings Calls give us a check-in on how the Walt Disney Company is doing through a release of quarterly financial results and comments from leadership at the company. During this call, Disney executives reported on the continued closures of several Disney parks.
Disneyland has been closed for almost a full year.

While Disney World was able to open last summer, strict theme park reopening guidelines in California have kept Disneyland closed. Now, lawmakers in California are looking to change that.
The gates might be closed at Disneyland, but there has still been some MAJOR developments in Downtown Disney and the parks themselves prior to their re-openings.
Disneyland Entrance
Now that California has lifted the ban on outdoor dining, numerous Downtown Disney restaurants have opened to guests once again. And, those visiting spots like Buena Vista Street and other Downtown Disney locations will be thrilled to know stationary and socially distanced eating and drinking can happen once again.
While Southern California has been under a stay-at-home order for the last four weeks, restaurants are allowed to stay open for takeout and delivery. In Downtown Disney, select dining locations have remained open for takeout while guests can also shop at a reduced capacity.

However, we learned today that one of those dining locations in Downtown Disney that was previously open is currently closed.
Disneyland has remained closed since March of this year, and it isn’t expected to reopen soon.
Buena Vista Street
With strict theme park guidelines from the California government and limited ICU availability in the state, Disneyland has been forced to keep its doors closed for months now. With the parks closed due to COVID-19 since March, it doesn’t look like a reopening will be coming anytime soon, due to government regulations. Even though the parks can’t fully reopen, Disneyland Resort has been able to open for shopping and dining in Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. Now, Disney is sharing an update on theme park ticket expiration dates.
Disneyland Resort (except for Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street) has been closed for almost eight months and will continue to be closed for the foreseeable future.
Disneyland Gate
Back in October, California state introduced the theme park guidelines in response to the global health crisis. These guidelines place heavy restrictions on Disneyland and could keep it from opening for some time. Shortly after, Disney announced around 30,000 layoffs and now, more Disneyland workers are being furloughed.
Over the past several weeks, many states and communities across the nation have noticed a rise in positive cases as we head into cold and flu season, where cooler temperatures draw more people indoors and family gatherings become a regular part of our holiday season.

In response to the rise in cases and to continue to flatten the curve, the states of California, Oregon, and Washington have released a joint travel advisory to their residents.
