In the exciting/frustrating world of Disney World ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations), some restaurants just seem to be tougher to get into than others. And the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of those more difficult tickets.
So in 2013, the Disney gods (or Imagineers or restaurant planning mavens) smiled and — poof!– the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge was born.
And it was good. Right from the start, the Lounge became one of our favorite places to drop in unannounced. We could get all the glittery Hollywood-ness of the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant without an ADR! [Read more…]
In the ever-evolving, super-fun world of Disney Parks Glowcubes (that’s a thing, trust us), we’ve found the holy grail. And you don’t even need to go on a quest to get one (just take a boat or a bus to Hollywood Studios)!!
Introducing, the Brown Derby Hat Glowcube. I mean, C’MON, guys! It’s a TEENY DERBY HAT!
Look how stinking adorable that thing is. And it’s a glowcube! Whoever came up with this idea deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — the Disney version AND the real one.
You can snag one for yourself at the Brown Derby Lounge (which is restaurant-adjacent). It comes automatically in the Derby Cocktail. [Read more…]

Cheers from The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge!
The Brown Derby Lounge sits just outside The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Its reputation stems from that of the original Brown Derby Restaurant in the City of Lights — a hot spot of the 1930s and 40s where stars of the Golden Age of film came to “see and be seen.” The outdoor lounge (which was added to the Disney World location in 2013) offers a spot for walk-ups without Advance Dining Reservations to enjoy a taste along with a bit of the ambience of the signature restaurant.
The Lounge serves food along with cocktails and bar service. And with some new items added to the menu this summer, we thought it was a good time to travel back to Hollywood’s heyday with a visit to the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge.
For a newer location, The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge blends so seamlessly within its surroundings that its hard to remember that it hasn’t been here all along. And, to be fair, the patio and tables HAVE been here all along, but they weren’t functioning as a lounge at the time.
