Once again, Joffrey’s Espresso Coffee & Pastries kiosks all over Disney World are serving up some specialty items to get us in the festive spirit. We checked out the Winter Specialty menu on our last visit, and now they’re helping us get ready for a caffeinated Valentine’s Day!
Espresso drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas make up the menu along with tea and hot chocolate. Select Joffrey’s locations such as the one just outside of the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot also offer opportunities to “spike” your coffee with your choice of Bailey’s, Kahlua, or Jameson. Happy Holidays form Disney World! The trees are up. The lights are lit. And even Disney coffee is getting a festive makeover! In fact, the Joffrey’s Espresso & Pastries kiosks found all over Disney World property now have their 2015 Winter Specialty Drinks available.
Whether you know them by their proper name or not, you’ve likely strolled by many a Joffrey’s kiosk at Disney World. They are typically themed so well to their surroundings that you may not take notice of them (you can take a tour of several of the kiosks by clicking here). But it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled, since the theming of some of the beverages themselves changes with the seasons. [Read more…]

More fantastic news coming out of Disney Springs today, all!! We’ve got confirmation on several other restaurants joining the line-up at the new and improved Downtown Disney location in Orlando!
While we’ll be covering each and every one of these as they open, here’s a sneak peek at what’s right around the corner for Disney Springs.
Inspired by The Edison venue in Los Angeles, this lavish “Industrial Gothic” -style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination is themed to a 1920s-period power plant, recalling an exuberant era of invention and imagination. It will feature classic American food, craft cocktails, and live entertainment including cabaret and music.
The world’s first cupcake bakery, as named by Food Network and others, serves up handcrafted cupcakes, slow churned ice cream and homemade cookies. I have a Sprinkles locally where I live, and I will never admit to ordering a dozen cupcakes for delivery even when I was home alone…so don’t even try.
These aren’t as good as my beloved Magnolia cupcakes in NYC, but they are a fantastic fill-in here in Dallas. I know they’ll be a hit in Disney Springs.

This is a photo from Sprinkles’ facebook page because cupcakes don’t last long enough in my house to be photographed.

Happy Fall! Autumnal treats have been appearing all over Disney World for a while now, but with Halloween just days away, we thought we’d give you one last glimpse of the season’s snacks.
But that’s not the only food news ’round these parts… not by a long shot. Take a trip with us around all four Disney World parks to check out What’s New!
October is probably my favorite time for the candy apples that hit the scene, like these at Sweet Spells.
Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner currently features a Caramel Apple Shake as its tribute to fall. The featured shakes here change frequently, so be sure to pop by to see what’s available on your visit!
Joffrey’s Coffee Carts all over Disney World have changed their seasonal offerings to include a Pumpkin Pie Latte and a Pumpkin Pie Frozen Cappuccino.
Speaking of those Joffrey’s Carts… remember the Big ‘Ol Donut? We spotted a few topped with massive amounts of cookie crumble for a change [Read more…]

We’ve visited the Royal Anandapur Tea Company in Animal Kingdom more than a few times.
Tucked in Animal Kingdom’s Asia just across the way from Kali River Rapids, this hidden gem is known primarily for it’s terrific variety of loose hot teas.
But you can also grab yummy snacks (check the baked goods case for one of those giant pink donuts from time to time) as well as specialty drinks. You’ll even find holiday flavors here during the Winter.
But since our visit coincides with the absolute pinnacle of Summer in Orlando, it was time to find something cool — even icy — to sip.
We know a lot of our readers love the Frozen Chai, and so we figured it was high time to feature it here on DFB! Ready to dive in??
While several of the coffee and tea beverages on the menu can be found at other Joffrey’s Coffee kiosks around Disney World, I believe this is one of the only locations where you can find a blended Frozen Chai. (You can find the Iced Chai — a creamy chai tea poured over ice — at a few of the other kiosks.)
When I placed my order, I was asked if I wanted whipped cream on top of my beverage. Hmmm, let me think about that… YES!!!
As someone who sees Mickey-shaped food rather frequently, I have no idea why I was so happy when it came to me like this…
A Whipped Cream Mickey!
I had to make it past the fun-ness, though, to try the Frozen Chai.
My first impression was that it was [Read more…]

For this round of “What’s New,” we’ve got food news (and menu changes galore) from every single Disney World park… and beyond! So settle, in, make yourselves comfy, and join us to see What’s New!
We’ll start with the fact that Dole Whip (with or without rum, y’all) can now be found at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom’s Africa! (Yep; we’ve had confirmation from Dole that it IS indeed authentic Dole Whip Pineapple Soft Serve.)
But we don’t want to miss the chance to mention that Tamu Tamu has also brought back some old favorites with a recent menu refresh: The Slow-cooked Pulled Beef Sandwich is back (hooray!), along with the return of the Quinoa Salad. The Roasted Chicken Salad and gorgeous Fresh Fruit Salad made the cut from the previous menu.
And I’m very happy to say that the Fresh Fruit Bowl is back in time for summer!
The Fruit Salad has returned to Bradley Falls, too.
Remember, Bradley Falls operates seasonally, so if it’s closed during your visit, it’s good to know you can head over to Tamu Tamu for a Fresh Fruit Bowl.
Have you seen (or heard?!) this awesome Musical Tumbler found at various food locations throughout Animal Kingdom? Get the full scoop here!
The Royal Anandapur Tea Company is a perfect spot to grab a cup of hot tea (assorted varieties available) or coffee. However, they’re currently offering some flavored Iced Teas in light of the warmer temps.
Though not food-related, I’d like to offer this next picture as a small tribute. Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade wrapped up its nearly 13-year run as Animal Kingdom makes way for all sorts of new adventures. I don’t think I’m speaking solely for myself when I say this unique, beautiful and fun parade will be missed.
has added one more option to its gourmet hot dog selection: the BLT Hot Dog joins the Coney Island Dog and the Philly Cheese Steak Dog.
Now, here’s something you don’t see everyday… this next bit is not a new item, but rather a new [Read more…]
— your Contemporary Resort’s one-stop Joffrey’s kiosk for on-the-go beverages and snacks now offers specialty drinks and make your own sundaes to Walt Disney World visitors.
Possibly unique to this location (let us know if you spot them elsewhere!!), this Dippin Dots version of the Create Your Own Sundaes are especially fun!
With the combination of ice cream choices, personally selected toppings, and a variety of portion options, these dishes really deliver on personalization!
Go ahead and customize your own refreshing treat.
These sundaes are made with a selection of Dippin’ Dots flavors! (Read: Tiny spheres of ice cream.)
You know how we love our treats; we suggest ordering the LOL (lots of layers). And send us a picture when you do!
Of course, there’s [Read more…]

If you’re a Disney Food Fan, then 2013 has been an exciting year!
We’ve had lots of change, new announcements, and brand new experiences.
So today, we thought we’d take a look back at this year, and review the Top 10 Disney Food News Items of 2013!
From new coffee to new restaurants, new technology to new ice cream, we have a ton to cover!
Let’s get started!
When Starbucks and Disney announced in 2012 that the coffee giant would be coming to Disney Parks, the news was huge! And when the first Walt Disney World locations began opening in 2013, the story once again topped the list of Disney food headlines.
The first location to open was Main Street Bakery on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street USA. While some loyal fans of the historic spot decried the chain store intrusion, many coffee lovers were thrilled that they could now enjoy their favorite brew in the shadow of Cinderella’s Castle.
And with the Main Street cinnamon rolls available at Gaston’s Tavern (at least they claim they’re the same…you can see our cinnamon roll throw down here!), well — at least not all of our favorite goodies are lost.
The reopening of Fountain View Cafe in Epcot as the second WDW Starbucks location seemed to ruffle fewer feathers, since the themeing for the futuristic ice cream parlor wasn’t as beloved as Main Street Bakery. Still, patrons were irked with the lack of seating, even if the many, many bays for ordering mean that your java arrives fresh and fast.
But Starbucks wasn’t the only coffee news we debated in 2013. Disney also announced that Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company, headquartered in Tampa, would become the official specialty coffee provider for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Vacation Club resorts.
We’ve been enjoying Joffrey’s products for ages at the kiosks throughout the parks, so this was welcome news to many. So far, we are hearing that you seem pleased with the switch from Nescafe to Joffrey’s.
Waaaaayyyyy back in January of this year, we first wrote about how we thought My Magic+ would affect Disney Dining.
And before the year was out, we had the opportunity to see just how some of the new technology would work.
One of the most intriguing uses of MyMagic+ technology was the Touch to Pay System. We had an opportunity to put our Magic Bands to work with the new system, and Erin, our Disney Food For Families columnist, documented the process so our readers could be in the know!
And while we love the Magic Band concept, even cooler is all the Disney food bling that you can get to individualize your bracelet! I’m a sucker for the cupcake!
Another rumor that came to fruition was that [Read more…]

Today, we’re stopping by Isle of Java at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a quick caffeine jolt!
You’ll find this little kiosk once you meander through the Discovery Island Oasis exhibits in the middle of the park. It’s stationed just outside of Disney Outfitters.
A peek at the menu here actually turns up some really interesting options! You can, for instance, have an Island Cappuccino, which features white chocolate — and Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum! Note to self: remember this. 🙂
But the real news here are some of the pastry options on the menu — especially the Cotton Top Tamarin Cupcake!
This is one of my fa-vor-ite cupcakes in Animal Kingdom (next to the Elephant cupcake, of course)!
They also had a few other goodies, like freshly baked cookies and the Turtle Brownie!
But plain and simple, I was hot and needed a little jolt of java. So I went with [Read more…]
