It’s a holiday weekend and you know what that means — CROWDS in Disney World!
Disney World is quiet today?
Or at least that’s what we thought. This year seems to be an exception to the rule: even the 4th of July weekend crowds were surprisingly lighter than what we expected. We have seen summer crowds in full force in Disney World, but things have been quiet recently, and, well, things are still pretty slow today. Let’s take a look!
It’s about to be a very busy few weeks at EPCOT!

A new gift shop and the reimagined Club Cool open up next week, followed by the grand opening of the Space 220 restaurant on September 20th. After that, the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World kicks off on October 1st with a new fireworks show, restaurant, and ride opening to the public. But what’s going on this week in the park? Labor Day weekend is here, Halloween is just around the corner, and the holiday season will be here before you know it! That means one thing: the potential for crowds…lots and lots of crowds!

Recently, we’ve seen crowds and wait times reach VERY low levels in Disney World. Today, we’re taking a look at how Labor Day weekend has affected crowds at Disney World.

And with many kids returning to school and the fact that there still isn’t a vaccine available for kids under 12 years old, the CDC is concerned about travel this Labor Day weekend. They’ve recommended that unvaccinated people not travel at all, and vaccinated people should consider the risks before doing so.
It’s gonna be another busy weekend at Walt Disney World.
Magic Kingdom
To manage capacity, all guests are required to make a reservation before entering any Disney World theme park. Annual Passholder reservations tend to fill up the fastest followed by Resort Guests and general Theme Park Ticket Guests. Labor Day Weekend was the first time Disney Park Pass reservations filled up for all three ticket categories. It seems that Disney World will see another busy weekend because reservations for Saturday are filling up right now.
If you’re headed to Disney World today, you may be in for some serious crowds. During this holiday weekend, we saw Disney parks reach their capacity limits.

But, if you’re a Haunted Mansion fan, you may find yourself waiting in a line that isn’t even for the attraction itself. Today, we found one of the longest lines in Magic Kingdom…at a quick service restaurant.
We have some great news for guests visiting Disney World over the holiday weekend!

Leading up to Labor Day weekend, Disney Park Pass reservations were completely booked for all four parks for several days in a row. But now, park availability has opened back up!
Since Disney World’s reopening, Labor Day is the first holiday being celebrated in the parks (even though Halloween entertainment, treats, and more have started to pop up!).

Disney Park Pass availability for Labor Day Weekend kept seeing some changes with Saturday and Sunday of this weekend being listed as sold out across the board for ALL guests (note right now VERY limited Passes look like they’re available!). We HAD to take a look at what the first holiday weekend was like back in Disney World!
