Hello there, world travelers! Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Epcot.
We’ve got a lot to cover today, including construction updates, macaron packaging, and some adorable new merch! Let’s get started.
Bonjour Mademoiselles and Monsieurs! We spotted some new packaging on one of our favorite French treats in Epcot today!
Over in the France Pavilion, Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie consistently serves up some of our favorite freshly baked pastries and French nibbles (We’re looking at you, frangipane!). Now, we have another thing to love — they’ve repackaged their delicious macarons in a more environmentally friendly (and portable!) way!!
If you’re traveling to Disney World and trying to stick to a budget, you’ve already discovered that it can be MAJORLY expensive to eat in the World.
And with so many irresistible snacks to try, you’ll need to figure out which ones give you the most bang for your vacation buck! That’s where we come in! Here at Disney Food Blog, we’ve tried ALL the snacks, and we’ve compiled for you some seriously tasty treats that come in UNDER $5! [Read more…]
If you’ve ever reviewed a list of dining options in Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World, you may have noticed that some pavilions have more eateries than others. France and Japan, in particular, not only have several restaurants each, they’re both in the process of adding new restaurants as well, which will bring the restaurant total in France to five and in Japan to four.
The answer to this question is a little complicated. You may think that the inequality is due to French and Japanese cuisine being more celebrated in the real world, and thus restaurants in these pavilions are naturally more popular. [Read more…]
Bonjour
from France! Epcot’s France pavilion, that is. This is where where we spotted a new refreshing-sounding beverage at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie this week that we just had to try now that the Florida summer heat is most definitely upon us.
Introducing the all new Frosé!
One question I am often asked is, “AJ, what do you eat in the parks when you aren’t gathering info for DFB readers?” My answer? Well, I have several favorites. And for years, one of them has been the Frangipane at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion.
Pictured above you’ll see the classic version I’ve loved ever since the first time I tried it. And I know what you’re thinking: “What’s the big deal?” But there’s always been more to this deceptively simple pastry than meets the eye.
As it turns out, though… my beloved Frangipane has been changed. The menu will still tell you that the Frangipane ($4.50 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) is an “almond filling between puff pastry.” [Read more…]
Today, we’re back with another installment in our new DFB Video Series!
This time, we travel to France — via Epcot, that is — to take a look around one of our favorite counter service spots in all of Walt Disney World: Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie.
You’ll find Les Halles tucked into the very back of the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. And believe me, you won’t be disappointed with the trek to get back there. [Read more…]

You know, there are few better ways — especially while Soarin’ is undergoing refurb 😉 — to start a day at Epcot than a visit to Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion.
Even though we talk about Les Halles a lot here on the DFB (it’s one of our Favorite Epcot Restaurants, after all), it still comes as a surprise to lots of guests that you can indeed start your day at Epcot here.
Unique among World Showcase counter service eateries, Les Halles opens at 9:00 am, whereas the rest open along with World Showcase at 11:00AM daily. (Future World spots like Fountain View and Sunshine Seasons are the places you can find breakfast items upon Epcot’s typical 9:00AM opening).
Now, you may think it’s all sweet treats at Les Halles, and if you want to start your day with Mousse au Chocolat, a Napoleon, or even a coffee-infused Café Liégeois, then have at it — you’re on vacation!
But there is a savory little gem we’d like to bring to your attention today, if you haven’t yet sampled this Les Halles staple for yourself: it’s the Roule Lard et Fromage. [Read more…]

We’re already back at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie!
And why not? With the huge assortment of classic pastries, desserts, soups, sandwiches… let me think, did I miss anything? Oh, right… quiche, salads, baguettes, macarons…. well, you’re gonna need more than a few trips to hit it all! Should you be a wee bit overwhelmed with your choices here (and who could blame you?), we’re here to help.
It’s more of the sweet stuff today, and we’re focusing on a classic as well as a dessert with a little twist.
The Mousse au Chocolat is our classic.
I don’t know if it’s my bias towards all things Les Halles, but the Chocolate Mousse here — both in appearance and flavor — strike me as a bit darker and richer than other mousse desserts I’ve tried.
As expected, it’s light and creamy, and you can definitely call it “airy,” though it still has a bit of substance to it.
Topped off with a sprinkling of crunchy garnish, the mousse scratches that itch for [Read more…]

It’s become one of my life goals to eat my way through the entire bakery case at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion.
And why not? This place rarely churns out a dud, even though the selection is HUGE.
Now, I do have to say, I’m quite partial to my favorites: for example, the Frangipane (puff pastry with an almond filling), which I’ve adored ever since I tried it at the Food and Wine Festival’s Parisian Breakfast last year, and the Brix aux Pommes, which has become a more recent favorite of mine.
So sometimes it’s hard to switch gears and choose beyond those. But a goal is a goal and I aim to do my readers proud! To that end, I’d like to show you a few other staples in that bakery case that I haven’t previously showcased on the blog.
Welcome back to Les Halles!
While there are plenty of savory options at Les Halles (it’s a great spot to grab soup and a sandwich), today we’re focusing on the sweet stuff. Let’s check out a few more French goodies tucked inside!
In fact, the treats we’re checking out today are displayed side by side in there, even though they are quite different from each other. We’re trying the Parfaits aux Fruits and a little something by the name of “Duo.”
First up, the oddly titled “Duo.” Initial impression? It’s gorgeous. A smooth chocolate dome reflects the light in the bakery case and catches your eye immediately.
The small chocolate topper gives you a hint as to [Read more…]
