Hey there, DFB friends! We’re back with more of what’s NEW at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Over this past week, we were evacuated from a popular ride and we even got to find some new Star Wars merchandise in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Let’s jump right in.
What’s one of the most DIVISIVE things that could happen to you in Disney World? A ride evacuation, for sure! Confused? Allow us to explain!
For some people, getting evacuated from a Disney World ride can absolutely ruin the day, especially if you’ve got a dining reservation to make, you waited in the queue for an extended period of time, or it’s your first time experiencing the attraction. However, for other people…it’s a dream come true! You get the chance to see a little behind-the-scenes action, and it can honestly be pretty fascinating. Recently, we got evacuated off of one of Disney World’s newest rides, and we thought you might want to see what it’s like!
Round up the gang and settle in for a little story — or should we say, a little Toy Story. 😉 Over in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure, Toy Story Midway Mania draws some big lines and invites some fierce competition. (Seriously, getting the “Best in Vehicle” score is SO exciting) Every once in a while, though, the game goes awry and playtime is over sooner than expected.

You’ve heard the old expression, “It took the wind out of our sails,” but what about “It took the splash out of our mountain“? Disney World is no stranger to a ride evacuation; popular attractions like Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean have been going through it lately!

Splash Mountain
During our recent trip to the Magic Kingdom, we noticed that Splash Mountain wasn’t, well, splashing, so we went over to investigate.
Even in the most magical place on earth, things can go awry!
Attractions can malfunction, equipment can break, and the occasional pileup can happen, too! On a recent trip to the Magic Kingdom, we noticed that there was something going on over at a popular Tomorrowland attraction and decided to investigate. Let’s see what we could find!

Sacré bleu! It seems there was a little kitchen mishap over in France recently.
Sometimes, things go wrong in Disney World. You drop your Mickey bar, you trip over the ledge on Main Street, U.S.A., an attraction has a little technical difficulty…we’ve all been there! Recently, a new (and very popular) attraction was evacuated in EPCOT. Talk about a kitchen nightmare!
Things don’t always go according to plan at Disney World, especially with attractions.

Remember Plant Donald?
Sometimes, special effects don’t work properly, sometimes animatronics break down, sometimes other issues cause rides to be evacuated. It happens. And today, we experienced some ride technical issues at Magic Kingdom.
