We’re SO excited about what 2024 is going to bring to Disney World. New year, new STUFF!
Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom
We’re getting new food at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs over at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. We’re even getting a brand new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which we’re getting even MORE excited about. Why? Well, we check out construction on the new ride every day, and most recently, it’s looking A LOT different.
If you’ve been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you know its downfall.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
HIGH wait times! Hollywood Studios is jam-packed with exciting and popular attractions with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and thrill rides at the end of Sunset Boulevard. We see some of the longest wait times in ALL of Disney World at this park frequently. Slinky Dog Dash, the adorable coaster in Toy Story Land, has held the top spot when it comes to average wait times for a while…but now there’s a new winner!
You can do all the planning necessary to make sure you have a seamless and PERFECT Disney World trip, but sometimes things still happen that throw a wrench in those amazing plans.
A rainy day in Magic Kingdom
Sometimes you have to deal with flight delays and cancelations. Sometimes there are technical issues that cause ride closures. Sometimes, bad weather can affect both your flights and the theme park rides, and, well, we’ve got some bad news on that front for this weekend.
Y’all we’re not gonna lie. It’s BUSY at Disney World.
Crowds
But just how bad are the crowds? Well, compared to the wild week we experienced surrounding Thanksgiving, wait times and crowd levels actually feel kind of…tame? That’s also reflected in the recent Genie+ prices and park pass reservation availability. So how have wait times changed at Disney World over the past week? It’s time to find out!

Hollywood Studios
Disney World is celebrating BIG for the holidays this year with the return of the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays and the all-new Jollywood Nights event. With all of these exciting things come lots of crowds! That is apparent through the wait times too, although we were a bit surprised at what is going on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now…
It’s been a BUSY week in Disney World, to say the least.
Getting busier
That was to be expected, though. It’s the week of Thanksgiving after all! Most kids are out of school and it’s a popular time to travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth. We’ve noticed the crowds which caused some Mobile Order challenges and the price of Genie+ reached its highest point again due to demand. The skip-the-line service even sold out! But what did the wait times look like throughout the week? It’s time to find out.
The holiday season has officially landed in EPCOT!
2023 Festival of the Holidays
The Festival of the Holidays has kicked off with several food booths, multiple holiday storytellers, and a Candlelight Processional that’s star-studded. But sadly, one of last year’s big holiday offerings may not be returning to the park in 2023!
The holiday season is one of our favorite times to visit Disney World.
Jingle Cruise
From Christmas-themed treats and meeting Santa Claus to watching the snow (er, snoap) fall on Main Street, U.S.A., there is so much to do. But one of the most popular things about the season is getting to see some of Disney’s classic rides all dolled up with lights and merry decor. Near the end of the year, Jungle Cruise turns into Jingle Cruise, where it gets decked out in holiday-themed jokes, kitschy decor, and more. We’ve already gotten a chance to experience it this year, but if you haven’t — we now know when it’s changing back!
While it’s the most wonderful time of the year at Disney World right now, it’s also usually one of the busiest.
EPCOT
The festive decor, the delicious seasonal treats, and the exclusive parties — Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights — can draw huge crowds to the park. However, when looking at the average wait times we noticed something strange…the wait times are trending DOWN!
The holiday season has taken over Disney World — and we’re soaking in allll the festive details.

We’ve been to the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights event. We will continue to admire all the decorations in the parks. And — OF COURSE — we’re ready to eat ALL the holiday treats. But one thing we also look forward to every year is the holiday overlays, especially the one at an underrated EPCOT ride. Well, good news: it’s finally here!
