Imagineers are the creative Disney engineers who bring the Disney Parks to life and they sometimes gift us insight into how beloved attractions have been and will be made. On rare occasions, however, an Imagineer will spill the details on attractions that almost were but never came to be. Recently, a former Disney Imagineer revealed details on a scrapped Star Wars attraction that promised to be another great Disney Park addition!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
It’s pretty common knowledge that Disney World and Disneyland are places where magic happen every day. And for the right amount of money, you can get married and have a pixie-dust infused wedding at several destinations in the Disney Parks and Resorts. But if you’re envisioning your magical day to take place in a galaxy far, far away… you may need to adjust your hyperspace trajectory.
So decades ago, a lot of folks might have considered Disney’s Hollywood Studios a half-day park.

Hey, don’t come at us! It’s true! At one point, Hollywood Studios didn’t have a LOT going on, not like it has now. But thanks to the addition of Toy Story Land and later, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Hollywood Studios has become one of the most popular Disney World parks. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, in particular, has made the park stand out, but despite that, Hollywood Studios is still missing something HUGE.

Okay, maybe they’re not COMPLETELY like us, but many celebrities love Disney as much as we do. John Stamos, for example, has a MASSIVE vintage Disney collection — we’ve also spotted him in Disney World a few times. Neil Patrick Harris has been to EPCOT so much that a bar there has dedicated a table to him. Even the stars of Breaking Bad have a Disney World connection. Well, ANOTHER celebrity was recently spotted enjoying Disney World.
Ever take an embarrassing amount of photos, only to realize that your finger was blocking a part of the camera lens? That’s the WORST, right? Especially when you’re trying to quickly snap family photos in Disney World before your family runs away (because “the sun is in their eyes” 🙄). If only there was a professional you could ask!
Toy Story Land
Um, actually, there is! Disney offers a special service called Capture Your Moment, which gets you a 20-minute private photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer. It’s not cheap, but if you want quality, professional photos, this might be your best bet. Now, a NEW location has been added to Disney’s Capture Your Moment service — let’s take a look!

Now, granted, we’re totally only thinking about food when comparing the two because that’s what we LIVE for. Although both lands have the same counter service restaurants and snacks like the Ronto Wrap and Blue Milk, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the West Coast has MORE Star Wars treats — and we’ll be honest here, they usually ROCK. So yeah, those of us in Florida are a little jealous. Well, we just tried three one-day-only treats in Disneyland, and, yep, we’re still jealous.

In Disneyland, character experiences are tons of fun. Although you do have some traditional meet-and-greets, you’ll find a lot of characters just roaming around, especially in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. On any given day, you might bump into Din Djarin and Grogu, Ahsoka, Hera and Chopper, and more. Not a lot of folks did as the hotel-meets-spaceship interactive experience was only open for a little over a year, although many Star Wars fans didn’t visit because of its price point. For those who did get to hop onboard the Halcyon, though, there was an unforgettable experience that involved being part of a Star Wars story, lightsaber training, space-themed dining, and more. Well, some folks have started a tribute for the hotel showing that it might be gone, but it’s far from forgotten.
One thing that makes Disneyland such a happy place is that random things can happen at any time.

You could turn around and BOOM — Jack and Sally are suddenly walking beside you. Or maybe you’re on Haunted Mansion Holiday and your Doom Buggy stops during the ballroom scene (the best time to be stuck on a ride). Maybe you’re wandering Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and you bump into the Mandalorian and Grogu. Or maybe, just maybe, you see the CUTEST thing ever in Batuu: a band of wandering droids.
