Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit permanently closed on August 18th, and crews have been working to dismantle it.
Before you know it, Halloween will be behind us, and the last Halloween Horror Nights will have passed at Universal Orlando.

That means one thing…the holiday season is coming soon! Universal recently shared that the holiday season will start this year on November 21st and run through January 4th. However, Universal also shared everything you’ll be able to see and do at the parks this holiday season — and even Epic Universe will have some holiday surprises this year!
Early in September, Universal Orlando stated that construction will be coming soon to the Islands of Adventure theme park. Director of Public Relations Kristen Smith said in an emailed statement to the Orlando Business Journal that, “In the coming months, there will be construction activity in Lost Continent as part of site planning to ensure the area is ready for any future developments.”

The Lost Continent is one of the islands at the theme park, and several attractions there have been closed down for a while. We also spotted a permit for the demolition of five acres within Islands of Adventure, approximately the size of the closed attractions in The Lost Continent. So what exactly will be getting demolished at Islands of Adventure, and what will remain? Well, we don’t know for sure yet, but we do have some ideas.

The immersion in these lands, especially ones like Isle of Berk and Dark Universe, is unlike anything we’ve seen in Universal parks before, and those rides? The way Stardust Racers twists and turns around each other, the seamless transition between screens and practical effects in Monsters Unchained and Battle at the Ministry, the list goes on and on. HOWEVER, there’s something really interesting you need to know about the lockers at these attractions, because believe it or not, it could totally throw you off.
Stardust Racers in Epic Universe is set to reopen after its closure for a death investigation. The attraction is supposed to reopen for the first time today, October 4th, but as of 11:15 AM, it remains closed.

However, a change has now been made in the verbiage for the attraction’s safety measures, found in the Guide for Safety and Accessibility for the park that is important to note if you’re visiting soon. Let’s break down what those changes are and how they may affect your upcoming vacation.

The release of “Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks” has been delayed until November 17th, 2025. This three-episode docuseries offers a behind-the-scenes look at Universal’s theme parks, including the new Epic Universe theme park, which opened on May 22nd, 2025.

This is the third time the docuseries’ release date has been postponed. Originally, it was set to release in July, but it was pushed back to September. It is now being postponed until November.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, a woman is suing Universal Orlando for injuries she sustained after riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. This is the same roller coaster that Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died after riding on September 17th, 2025.
Stardust Racers
The lawsuit was filed by Sandi Streets, a 49-year-old woman from Sanford, FL. She is claiming that she suffered permanent injuries after riding Stardust Racers back in April. The lawsuit states that “her head shook violently and slammed into her seat’s headrest,” resulting in permanent injury.
