Don’t Miss These Five Booths at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival This Year!

I’m so excited that the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for August 31-November 13, when we celebrate 75 incredible days of food, wine, and more!

The festival begins earlier than ever before this year, so we’re busy preparing and planning to make the most of our time there. And I suggest you do the same!

While taking in Low Cost Seminars and Demonstrations or splurging on a Special Event or two is super fun, my favorite festival pastime is still strolling along the World Showcase Promenade and taking in both new and familiar eats and drinks at the festival Marketplace Booths.

While we await news of just exactly what that means, and to see what if any new booths are announced, today we’re sharing the five booths you absolutely cannot miss at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival this year!

Note — Disney has not released their official list of Epcot Food and Wine Festival booths, yet, so these are subject to change. To make sure you get notified FIRST when this year’s booths are finalized, join the Disney Food Blog Newsletter

So, What’s New?

There’s always something fun and new to look forward to each year. And this year will be no exception. Disney promises 35 booths to celebrate 35 years of Epcot awesomeness. So far, we’re getting a look at two newly returning booths that promise to offer some delicious and exotic fare.

Spain

Spain, last seen on the World Showcase Promenade in 2010, returns to the festival this year. Since Spain has a rich culture of beautifully prepared regional foods, we look forward to seeing this menu!

So far, we’ve confirmed a new Spain menu item, Charcuterie in a Cone. What a cool way to have your snack and stroll with it too. :-D  I’m pretty sure this plus a glass of Spanish wine will be very nice on a festival evening.

In addition, there’s a very real chance that we’ll see variations on dishes that have been featured here before. Look for possibilities such as Seared Albacore Tuna with Romesco Sauce, Snapper Escabeche, Spanish Almond Cake, or Crema Catalana, along with some interesting Spanish wines and beer.

Disneyland’s Pickle Paradise!

In the Land of Matterhorn Macaroons, Seasonal Whoopie Pies, and Gourmet Doughnuts, one must find an appropriate, salty foil. And that, my friends, is the proud duty of the Disneyland Pickle.

Many guests have applauded these individually-packaged cucumber pickles as a low-calorie option. Luckily, they’re also super tasty and crave-worthy whether you’re counting calories or not. The punch of the brine and juice along with the chill factor and the satisfying crunch make a much more memorable snacking option than you might originally think, which is why they have been around Disneyland for… EVER. News: Go-Kart Sundae from Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats on the Disney Dream!

If the only thing better than a sundae is a sundae in a cool vessel (think: Kitchen Sink, Mickey’s Pants), then the only thing better than a sundae in a cool vessel is a sundae in a cool vessel on a Disney Cruise!

The Disney Dream, which went into ‘dry dock’ for some upgrades and alterations in 2015, is the (floating) place to go for Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats. And we don’t know about you, but anywhere with the words “sweets” and “treats” in the name is basically our favorite place.

Smothered in powdered sugar, these hot-from-the-fryer, melt-in-your-mouth treats are pretty amazing all by themselves. But at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, you can also score them with Dipping Sauces. Choose from Caramel, Raspberry, or Chicory Coffee Ganache. Or don’t choose. Because ALL THE SAUCES. News and Review: Rainbow and World of Color Goofy’s Glaciers!

What’s more refreshing and cooling than a slushy on a crazy hot Florida or southern California day? Uh, nothing. The answer is nothing.

Which is why we love Goofy’s Glaciers. These sweet and tart slushies come in several Goofy-worthy flavors like strawberry, blue raspberry, passion mango, and lemonade. And with flavors like these, it’s only natural that  a good Disney food fan would combine them into something even awesome-r.

Enter our DiningInDisney pal Heather Sievers who, as always, has this plan on lock. In fact, she gave this slushie combo a swirl back in May!

Seven Things To Do BEFORE the Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

You’re going to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! Hooray!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Tips

Ok. Now what?

In 2017, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival will take place August 31 through November 13. That’s 75 days of discovering new dishes, enjoying interesting wines, and learning about exciting cocktails and craft beers.

But unless you’re independently wealthy, you probably won’t be enjoying the entire two and a half month stretch.

Luckily, we know a thing or two about planning a GREAT Epcot Food and Wine Festival trip. We’ve even compiled our best tips in our DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Food and Wine Festival, available right now for pre-order.

To get you started on everything from choosing your dates, to what to pack, and how you pay for it all, let’s check out our best tips for Preparing for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, From Start to Finish.

1) Schedule Your Dates

It may seem basic, but get the calendar out and decide when you’d like to visit.

But really, it’s not so basic, right? There are all kinds of things to consider: When are crowds the largest? What’s the weather like? And OMG is Hanson going to be there this year??? (Spoiler Alert: Yep. They are.)

OMG! Hanson! (©Hanson)

Unfortunately, with respect to schedules, if you have to plan in advance, you’re going to have to do so with some unknowns. Disney always puts out the final schedule of events, for everything from Special Events to Demonstrations and Seminars, pretty much at the last minute. Even Eat to the Beat is coming later and later (although we do have that full lineup — see it here!)

Our suggestion? Plan as much as you can based upon weather, crowds, and a general idea of when Special Events have taken place historically. For a look back at all of the details of previous Festivals, check out our Disney Food and Wine Festivals Page. [Read more…]
