Review: Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic — Beer Garden, Chinatown, Carnival Corner

The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic is about to kick off this weekend! The 8th annual Classic takes place on October 27th and 28th, and we’ve told you all about what you can expect from The Causeway – that’s the main area of the Classic where food booths extend as far as the eye can see. The food! The drinks! The unlimited snacking (depending on your ticket)! We look forward to it every year.

But there are a few special areas of the Classic that are a little off the beaten…causeway. The Beer Garden, Chinatown, and Carnival Corner are fun additions to the event! And while The Beer Garden requires an add-on to your Causeway Ticket, Chinatown and Carnival Corner are included at no extra charge!

Ticket holders for the event will enjoy the activities on Friday, October 27, and/or Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 5:30PM to 9PM. As in the past, there are several ticket options, which you can find on the event website. The Causeway Ticket provides unlimited access to food and drinks along the Causeway between the two resorts. The Causeway Ticket and Beer Garden ticket allows access to the unlimited Causeway offerings as well as the Beer Garden. There are also a la carte ticketstickets for seminars, and a Sunday Bubbles Brunch.

But first, here’s why you might want to tack on that Beer Garden option…

The Beer Garden

This area is a ticket add-on costing attendees an extra $25. Located under the cover of trees on Crescent Terrace, The Beer Garden also offers up extra food in addition to the Garden’s several local and seasonal beer varieties and one or more hard ciders. Guests also get a souvenir plastic glass. [Read more…]

Review: Battered Banger and Chips at Epcot’s Rose and Crown Pub

The Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room in the World Showcase at Disney World’s Epcot is an authentic English pub dropped into sunny central Florida. And we love it. Like “can-we-move-in?” love it.

For years, Rose and Crown has earned a reputation as a classic World Showcase spot. Diners satisfy their need for English comfort food like fish and chips and cottage pie while enjoying some of the best pints found in the Parks.

But many visitors to Epcot don’t realize that the no-reservations-needed pub here has an incredible (though small) food menu and atmosphere! Plus — Carl the Bartender!

We know, we know. You want in.

Atmosphere

Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room gets high marks from diners for the restaurant’s authenticity, and it all starts with the curb appeal.

In fact, Rose and Crown features architecture from three different centuries on its exterior, which is in keeping with the period architecture found throughout the United Kingdom pavilion.

We spied this new Craft Beer Kiosk in Epcot’s America Pavilion a while back for the first time.

Today, we’re back to tell you all about it, and to give you a closer look!

Block & Hans Craft Beer Kiosk

Block & Hans have apparently been in business since 1612, supplying fine ale to the colonies. :-) And now, you can enjoy a beer from their menu while strolling the World Showcase Promenade at Epcot.

You’ll find beer representing many different parts of the country on the menu here. Angry Orchard is also available for those who prefer a nice alternative to beer — Hard Cider.

Were kind of intrigued that they haven’t included any local Florida craft beers, though — you can find them on many menus around Walt Disney World.

Form follows function, as they’ve chosen to “decorate” with empty beer bottles. It’s a great way to see some of the cool label art.

But all I can think of is…who got to participate in the “Let’s empty some bottles so we can decorate with them!” campaign? Because I’d really like to sign up for that team.

Fortunately, the bottles that you’ll actually consume are on ice, just as they should be on a sunny Florida day.
