Snack Series: Guava Cream Cheese Cupcake at Epcot’s Sunshine Seasons

We found another awesome new cupcake to share with you! (Well, we found three awesome new cupcakes to share with you, but we’ll focus on this one for today…)

Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion of Epcot’s Future World is a quick-service restaurant with ample seating and a large, varied menu. It’s a favorite of DFB readers (and me!), and often wins the top spot when it comes to beloved counter-service restaurants!

It deserves this honor, too! There are plenty of options on the menu, including fresh and unique items. Choose from one of five varied menus!

On my visit last week, though, I headed straight for the Bakery area! I’d heard from a few DFB readers about the new Guava Cream Cheese Cupcake, and I knew I had to try it!

When I got to the bakery case, this lovely item was staring (literally — kind of looks like an eye, doesn’t it?) back at me!

Guava Cream Cheese Cupcake

The cupcake is only available here at Sunshine Seasons — a unique addition to this fun location’s menu!

The cake is moist vanilla — very rich for a vanilla cake, in fact. On top is a mound of light cream cheese frosting (when I say “light,” I don’t mean low-calorie — it just had a more [Read more…]

Hot Fudge Cookie Sundae On the Menu at Storybook Treats

UPDATE: Please note that as of June 2015, the Hot Fudge Cookie Sundae is no longer being served at Storybook Treats.

We told you earlier about the awesome hot fudge, and strawberry shortcake sundaes at Storybook Treats in the Magic Kingdom, but now there’s something even better — well, in my opinion anyway!

Introducing the Chocolate Chunk Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae at Storybook Treats!

Storybook Treats Sundae

This is SUPER exciting to me, since one of my favorite sundaes at Eat-n-Park back when I was in college was their massive cookie hot fudge sundae! I always put strawberry sauce on it, which gives me a great idea for how to alter this sundae as well… ;-) Anyway…

From Whence It Came

The menu has consistently offered a chocolate chunk cookie as well as a hot fudge brownie sundae, and my guess is that so many guests asked for the cookie to be substituted for the brownie that they decided to just make it a permanent addition to the menu!

Sundae

Also, remember that caramel sauce can be substituted for the hot fudge on most Storybook Treats sundaes. So on my visit last week, I asked if they could just add [Read more…]

Snack Series: Disneyland’s Chili Lime Corn on the Cob

Dallas is pretty warm today, so I thought we’d check out one of the fun, summer-y Disneyland treats I sampled last August in Disneyland Resort!

The Chili Lime Corn on the Cob can be found in several locations around Disney California Adventure (usually accompanied by chimichangas or Turkey Legs)…

Heather and I grabbed one of these while doing our own little food tour of DCA during the D23 Expo, and we were pleasantly surprised. Despite the [Read more…]

Atmosphere

Upon arrival at the Contemporary Resort, you’ll find the cruise meeting location on the Daily Events Board in the lobby. We knew we had found the right location when we bumped into this scraggly lookin’ fella. Clearly he has not yet discovered the Parmesan mashed potatoes at Chef Mickey’s!

Skeleton Pirate

While the room was filled with entertainment (music, characters, pirates), the pirate decor [Read more…]

Snack Series: Liberty Square’s Baked Potato

The Liberty Square Market kiosk is the place for a different kind of snack — a baked potato!

Baked Potato

That’s right; not all Disney snacks are packed with fat, sugar, and calories. Over in Liberty Square, right next to the Hall of Presidents, you can reward your tummy with a snack that has no preservatives and no artificial ingredients — plus it tastes great; especially on chilly Florida winter days!

“You Won’t Believe This!” Snack: Cottontop Tamarin Cupcake

It’s been a while since we had a new cupcake for you, but this one’s a doozey!! (Is that how you spell “doozey?”)

You remember the White Chocolate Elephant cupcake and the Zebra cupcake, right? Well, joining its furry friends is the new Cottontop Tamarin cupcake at Kusafiri Bakery near Kilimanjaro Safaris in Harambe Village! You can also find this sweet treat at the Coffee Kiosk at the entrance to Discovery Island.

Halloween Treats in Walt Disney World

Halloween treats continue to materialize around Walt Disney World in preparation for the fun this Fall. We reported on a few a couple of weeks ago, and Heather showcased some in Disneyland on Thursday; but there are even more to enjoy during this spooky season!

Main Street Bakery

Like last year, the Main Street Bakery has created some inventive goodies to celebrate the season.

New for this year’s Halloween season are a chocolate-covered Mummy Cookie and a Graveyard Cupcake.

Mummy Cookie

The Mummy Cookie is actually a sugar cookie, though it looks like gingerbread at first glance due to the shape. It’s milk chocolate covered, then “wrapped” with [Read more…]

2011 Halloween Snacks Materialize in Disney Parks

Hmm… last I checked the calendar it was August, but in “Disney time” that means Halloween is right around the corner! Check out these not-so-spooky treats Heather and I found in Disneyland and in Disney World! One question, though — why is Mickey’s tongue hanging out on all of the logos? Weird. On we go…

I’m usually not a fan of the pre-packaged, hard-icing sugar cookies, but these might be too cute to pass up.

Sugar cookies

And here are a couple of treats for the candy corn lover! We didn’t try them, but gummy candy corn smelled oddly of butter….yep, I said butter. Next time you’re in a Disney candy store, see if you can find a bag and smell ‘em. Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried them!
