Hey everybody! It’s time for another roundup of What’s New in Animal Kingdom!
This is where we roar about all the lastest foods, drinks, merchandise and events we’ve spotted at Disney World’s WILDEST park this week! There’s much to discuss, so let’s get started!
If you’ve been following the news this week, you’ll know all about the major price increases we just saw throughout Disney World (including our beloved refillable mugs!) Animal Kingdom’s menus were no exception as you’ll soon see!
Animal Kingdom’s popcorn carts have increased its popcorn prices from $4.69 to $4.99. Sadly we’ve seen many fan favorites foods this week such as Mickey Pretzels and Mickey Bars receive price increases across the entire resort.
As Disney began rolling out their new vegetarian and plant-based offerings across all of their table-service resturants at both Disney World and Disneyland, some tasty new vegetarian options found their way onto the menu at Tiffins!
While they’ve removed the Shrimp and Grits and Crispy Sadza Corn Cake with Pork Belly
from its printed menu (note — we haven’t seen these changes reflected on their online menu yet) Tiffins added Plant-Based Tacos for $12 with avocado and plant-based cheese on its appetizers menu.
…while the vegetarian-version of the Crispy Sadza has stayed put! Sorry all you fans of the pork belly one, but at least you can still have your corn cake (and eat it, too!)
Right next door, Nomad Lounge has added Fish Tacos to their small plates menu.
We love this secluded little spot nestled away next to the busy footbridge that leads into Pandora. Nomad Lounge isn’t usually very crowded and you can order many of the same apps and cocktails available at Tiffins!
Stay tuned for a review from our most recent trip to Nomad Lounge — coming soon!
What happens when you mix a pizza joint with animals you spot in the wild? You get Pizzafari — our next stop!
We saw that Pizzafari has removed their Vegetable Pizza from its menu while they’ve added Plant Sicilian-Style Pizza Slice that comes with a Small Garden Salad.
Pizzafari’s prices have also increased. Their Tomato Basil Soup went up to $3.99 from $3.69 while Bud Light increased to $8.25 from $8, Safari Amber is up to $10 from $9.75 and Mandarin Orange Lemonade with Vodka has gone up to $11 from $9.75.
Flame Tree Barbecue
Next, we’re trekking over to Flame Tree Barbecue to see what’s happening!
They’ve added a plant-based Hot Link Smokehouse Sandwich served with French Fries to its menu. It also appears prices have gone up here as well! The carnivorous Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich has gone up to $7.29 from $6.99. They’ve also increased prices on their drink menu just like Pizzafari — Safari Amber Red Lager went up to $10 from $9.75, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, Mandarin Orange Vodka Lemonade up to $11 from $9.75.
We noticed while we were hanging out at Flame Tree Barbeque yesterday the Lion King Dance Party wasn’t happening, but Viva Gaia was performing again. We love their high energy!
Isle of Java
Over at Isle of Java, we saw more price increases.
Frozen Coke with Rum went up to $11 from $10, Mickey Pretzels up to $6.79 from $6.59, Mickey Ice Cream Bar up to $5.69 from $5.39, Island Cappuccino increased to $12 from $10.25, Party Parrot featuring Parrot Bay Coconut Rum has gone up to $12 from $10.50, and Parrotfish made with Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila went up to $13 from $11.25.
ACE Mobile Treats
Our travels are now taking us over to Pandora — The Land of Avatar!
At ACE Mobile Treats we spotted the Fruits of Mo’ara Bar, Coconut Fruit Bar and Strawberry Fruit Bar have all gone up in price to $5.50 from $5.25 — looks like the banshees aren’t the only things soaring in Pandora!
But a friendly Cast Member told us their menu boards were incorrect and that the Pongu Lumpia was still available! If you’ve never tried the Pongu Lumpia, you’ll probably either love it or hate it! Maybe it should be called Polarizing Lumpia, instead!
We just happen to LOVE it!
Meanwhile, the Mo’ara High Country Ale and Hawkes’ Grog Ale have jumped up to $10.50 from $10.25 while the Rum Blossom and Mo’ara Margarita have gone up to $15 from $13.25.
This Animal Kingdom spot has always been vegetarian-friendly, offering veggie folks tons of versatility with its customizable bowls.
Satu’li Canteen’s Orlando Brewing draft beers have gone up to $9.25 from $9 and $10.50 from $10.25 while the Banshee Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are up to $11 from $10 a glass.
Next, we’re trekking over to Africa where we spotted, even more, climbing prices.
Tamu Tamu’s King’s Cooler has increased to $10 from $8.50, while their Dole Whip Float with Rum went up to $11 from $9.50, Dole Whip Cup with Rum up to $10 from $8.50, African Coffee up to $11 from $9.75, Safari Amber Lager went up to $10 from $9.75, and their Tusker Lager up to $9.25 from $8.75. Surprisingly enough, their Corona Light went down to $8 from $9! At least something didn’t go up, for once!
At Dawa Bar, the prices continued to go up…
We saw Dawa Bar had increased its African Margarita and Ngumu Jungle Juice up to $13 from $11.75, its Lost on Safari up to $14 from $12.75, and its Tikiti Punch up to $12 from $11.
But the price hikes didn’t stop there. One change we noticed was Opici Family Sangria has replaced Beso Del Sol Sangria.
Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery
We continued our journey in Africa over to one of our favorite coffee spots in Animal Kingdom.
At Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, we saw Iced Coffee with Amarula Cream Liquor had gone up to $12 from $10.25, but luckily nothing else appeared to have changed.
Harambe Fruit Market
At Harambe Fruit Market, we spotted the Mickey Pretzel had increased to $6.79 from $6.59.
Heading over to Asia, we discovered all the frozen margaritas at Warung Outpost went up to $13 from $11.50!

As for food, their Assorted Chips went down to $2.99 from $3.49, while the Mickey Pretzel up to $6.79 from $6.59. We also noticed that Maduro Brown Ale had been removed from Warung Outpost’s menu.
At Drinkwallah, your Frozen Coke with Rum is going to cost you $11 instead of $10 now…
…while Coconut Lychee Lemonade went up to $11 from $9.50.
Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks
Perhaps the spot most impacted by price increases at Animal Kingdom was the Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks. It also appears that Thirsty River Bar has removed McKenzie’s Black Cherry Cider and Maduro Brown Ale from its menu.
At Trilo-Bites they’ve added a new piece of artwork to their exterior — a frosty-looking ice cream cone!
Trilo-Bites has also added a Kona Hanalei Draft, meanwhile, prices have increased for Old Elephant Foot up to $10 from $9.75, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8 and its Countdown Lime Margarita has gone up to $13 from $11.50. Looks like Trilo-Bites has also removed Sea Dog Sunfish from its menu.
We also found this new Oreo Shake! But wait — something’s missing from the menu! The Smokey Bones Shake is gone! Looks like the over-the-top chocolate and bacon milkshake spiked with bourbon has been replaced by its cookies and cream cousin.
At Dino-Bites Snacks, we’ve got a few more price increases to report.
The Mickey Pretzel went up to $6.79 from $6.59, while Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, and Key West Sunset Ale went up to $10 from $9.75.
Close by, we wanted to check out our favorite species of dinosaur — Restaurantosarus! We saw that they were now serving up Chocolate and Vanilla Milk Shakes!
But they had also increased their prices. Their Margarita was now to $13 instead of $11.50, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, and Safari Amber went up to $10 from $9.75.

Dinoland Hand and Fingerprint Art Station
We spotted this adorable new Hand and Fingerprint Art Station outside of Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.
At this new art booth, you can create one-of-a-kind pieces of art to remember your trip to Animal Kingdom! Looks like the more hands and fingers you add to your artwork, the more it’ll cost!
Take a look at these adorable, colorful birds made from handprints!
Or this spooky-looking Halloween tree made with fingerprints! Too cute!
Speaking of cute, we spotted this Fuzzy Kid’s Spirit Jersey at Riverside Depot for $49.99. It looks so cozy for fall, and we love the pastel colors!
Also at Riverside Depot, we discovered they now carried the Terrifying Transformations Pins we’d reported to your earlier. They had the Bambi Vinyl Pin for $17.99…
… and The Sleepy Hollow Pin for $17.99 perfect for the spooky season…
as well as The Wind in the Willows Pin $17.99.
Well folks, that concludes this week’s roundup of What’s New in Animal Kingdom! Thanks for joining us on our trek — until next time!
