I’ve eaten my fair share of bizarre snacks, I’ve counted steps out loud walking from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom, and I’ve even sat underneath tables in EPCOT to help my phone survive the chaos that is a festival opening day. But recently, I did maybe the strangest thing yet — spent the entire day befriending what might be Disney World’s creepiest souvenir.
Okay, it’s time to talk about Southwest Airlines and all these changes the airline has been making recently.
Southwest at MCO
I’ve been a huge fan of Southwest for a long time. My home airport is Memphis, and Southwest is one of the few airlines with non-stop flights to Orlando (for visiting Disney World, of course). It’s also one of the few airlines that offers flights into Long Beach Airport, my preferred airport when I want to visit Disneyland. So the big news right now is about Southwest changing its seating policy by offering assigned seats for the first time in the airline’s history. But I’m still pretty ticked off about its previous change…and y’all know where I’m going with this, right?

Okay, so we’d like to think we’re connoisseurs of cake in Disney World because we’ve eaten a LOT of cake throughout the entire resort.
Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake
We’ve had all kinds of cake, too, from that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake at Liberty Tree Tavern to super fancy and pricey cakes at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers to the double-frosted cakes at Gideon’s Bakehouse. So it’s a good thing we love cake. Well, we just found out that a NEW cake slice has arrived at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and well, we had to try it out for ourselves. Because, well, again, CAKE.
If you’re a big Spider-Man fan, we have a feeling you’ve probably been to Avengers Campus in Disneyland to meet Spidey, see him soar across the rooftops, and ride WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure (which is one of the best arm workouts EVER).

Okay, it’s us, and yes, we’ve done all those things. We’re also eagerly awaiting more updates about the NEXT Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Well, Sony just posted a teaser for the film today, which just happens to be Spider-Man Day, teasing something that’s going to be brand-new in the movie.
Sometimes, the trick to a perfect meal at Disney World is stepping outside of the theme parks and heading to a Disney Resort. While it might feel out of the way, there are lots of resorts only a few steps away from the parks, waiting to offer you what could be your new favorite restaurant.
