Here’s What Disney World Will Refund During the Resort’s Closure

On March 12th, Disney announced the closure of the four Walt Disney World theme parks (in addition to closure at Disney destinations around the globe including Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line) to promote safety of the Resort’s guests and cast members.

Originally, the closure was set to begin “at the close of business on Sunday, March 15th, through the end of the month,” March 31st, while Disney Resort hotels would remain open to guests through Friday, March 20th. EDITOR’S UPDATE on March 27th: Today, Disney has announced that Walt Disney World will be closed “until further notice.” Therefore, this post is updated to reflect cancellation and refund procedures in light of this extension of the closure.

Disney World Policy For Theme Park Ticket Purchases Affected By 2020 Closure

In light of the announced closure of Walt Disney World theme parks in response to concerns about the Coronavirus, Disney is providing information for upcoming guests who may be adjusting their travel plans.

Disney World Annual Pass Updates During Lengthy 2020 Closure

On March 12th, Disney announced the temporary closure of Walt Disney World theme parks “beginning at the close of business on Sunday, March 15th” in order to promote safety of the Resort’s guests and cast members in light of the current global situation. PLEASE NOTE: On March 27th, Disney announced an extension of the closure “until further notice.” And on April 2nd and 16th, Disney announced updated information regarding Disney World Annual Passholders, and this post has been updated accordingly.
