Disney World is ramping up to celebrate its 50th anniversary and sprucing up the place a bit. We’re listing every ride, restaurant, and resort that will be closed for refurbishments between February 1st through February 7th, 2021.

The quick-service location had walls up starting January 11th, and it’s expected to reopen in February. And in Magic Kingdom today, we spotted something promising!
Yesterday we were back in Magic Kingdom, and now we’re here to share what’s new!

We have a few construction updates and some brand-new merchandise. We even spotted some characters! Let’s dive right in.
Update: We checked on this later in the day and My Disney Experience showed that all of these attractions had reopened.
Disney World might be the most magical place on earth, but rides there can experience technical difficulties at times, causing them to temporarily close.
Magic Kingdom
Sometimes these closures are only for a few minutes, but other times they can last for much longer. As we walked around Magic Kingdom today, we actually found that 3 rides are ALL temporarily closed right now due to technical difficulties.
For some reason, Disney’s latest obsession seems to be with cats and dogs.
Pet Merchandise at The Emporium
And not only have we’ve seen things for humans with Disney cats and dogs on them (from shirts to spirit jerseys to dresses), but we’ve also seen a TON of merchandise FOR cats and dogs, including pet outfits!
Disney Vacation Club members are being treated to some special things this year in celebration of DVC’s 30th Anniversary.
Magic Kingdom
So far, some special DVC merchandise has been released, there’s a virtual musical event that members will get to enjoy, and DVC members will also get to enjoy the member lounge at EPCOT all throughout 2021. And now, there’s a new park adventure just for DVC Members!
