Heyyyy from Port Orleans: French Quarter and Riverside! We stopped by recently to check out the menus, and have a few updates for you!
Let’s jump in, shall we?
Hello from the Louisiana — er, Disney — Bayou! We moseyed over to Port Orleans French Quarter this week, and of course had to stop at one of our favorite Quick Service spots — Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory!
Sassagoula is best known for being the only spot in Walt Disney World for a classic Mickey shaped beignet — the warm, fluffy treat that I dream about more than I’d like to admit.
But today, something else caught our eye BESIDES tasty pastries. When we looked at the Menu Board at the “Italian Station” we noticed the “Create Your Own Pasta” was gone!
In its place were three “French Quarter” Pastas — Shrimp Arrabbiata, Chicken Alfredo, and Vegetarian. We also spotted a new Bayou Lasagna. We just had to sample a dish or two! [Read more…]

is located at the back of the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World.
This table service spot is oft forgotten in part because of its location, in part because Morocco’s quick service spot Tangierine Cafe is so good, and in part because Restaurant Marrakesh just doesn’t have the reputation for wowing guests like many of the other World Showcase table service options have.
I like to revisit restaurants whether they’ve got a decent rep or not, and Restaurant Marrakesh is one that we needed to check out again. But it’s one of the options for this year’s Flower & Garden Garden Rocks Dining Package (click here for more info on Garden Rocks and the dining package!), so I was excited to return (and get a coveted ticket to the show!).
Restaurant Marrakesh is a dichotomy. On the one hand, the atmosphere features lovely design details in keeping with the overall styling of the pavilion itself, the building of which was overseen by the government of Morocco. On the other hand, the food at Restaurant Marrakesh is largely uninspired and lackluster.
The atmosphere at Restaurant Marrakesh celebrates some of the classic Moroccan design seen elsewhere in the pavilion (and in the, you know, country of Morocco). [Read more…]
Walt Disney World is home to several moderate category resorts, but their food is far from moderate! You’ll find a wide variety of eats at each moderate resort from grab and go and pool bars to quick service and table service restaurants.
We wanted to bring you up to date on what’s going on menu-wise — and what a few of our favorites are! — at Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside in case you’re traveling there soon!
The resort pays homage to all things New Orleans and Mardi Gras — which means beignets are plentiful here!
The “Get Your Ears On” Celebration at Disneyland has already brought us some ah-mazing sweets!! We’ve tried churros, cake, and caramel apples, and now we’re bringing you the newest treat in the line-up. Please say hello to Mickey Butterscotch Beignets!!
These cuties are available, starting today, at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square…just in time for Mardi Gras!
The Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is ON!
This annual Epcot Festival just kicked off today and runs through December 30, 2018. And in addition to over a dozen international food booths, guests will be entertained by Holiday Storytellers and the Candlelight Processional, which share cultural traditions for the holidays around the world.
Returning this year is Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree — a festive kid-friendly Scavenger Hunt similar to Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt from the Food and Wine Festival. Only for the holidays, we’re helping Chip & Dale collect ornaments to decorate their Christmas Tree.

Debuting today at Port Orleans French Quarter’s Sassagoula Floatworks food court in Disney World is a sweet-meets-savory entree that seems like the perfect combo: the Beignet Burger.

We’re checking out the Holiday Eats at Disneyland’s Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square!
It’s no secret that Cafe Orleans is one of our favorite places to dine in all of Disneyland. That’s due both to its cool history in the park and iconic dishes. You can take a full tour to learn why we love it so much here.
But our purpose today? To sample the specialty holiday items on the menu for the Holidays at Disneyland Resort! [Read more…]
It’s officially fall — and you know what that means: pumpkin spice everything everywhere in Walt Disney World! 😉
And if you enjoy a beignet or two while you’re in the World, you’ll want to scoot yourself over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory in Disney World and Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland for Pumpkin Spice Mickey Beignets!
We’re coming back to you from Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter once again this week!
And this time we’re at the Resort’s indoor lounge, Scat Cat’s Club!
Just in case you missed it, we were just at this lovely Resort last week when the Beignets — a staple at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory — took on their new Mickey-Shape!
And our trip today focuses around Beignets again… but of a different variety! New on the menu at the jazz-inspired Scat Cat’s Club are BOOZY BEIGNETS!
