Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will soon see a CHANGE when it comes to one of the ride’s most important elements.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
As part of the ride, you go through a highly themed queue, several pre-show areas, and (of course) the coaster itself. While there are a bunch of screens and special effects to look at, one key element to the ride is…the music! Right now, you’ll get a random song during each ride out of a pre-selected playlist. But later this year, Disney will be changing things up in a special way!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has officially opened in EPCOT!
It’s officially open!
Disney shared several weeks ago that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will (at least for now) will not offer a standby line, and will instead require guests to obtain a boarding group via a virtual queue in order to ride. In addition to a virtual queue, Cosmic Rewind will also be available as an Individual Lightning Lane selection (or pay-per-ride selection) via Disney Genie.

Of course, we’re headed to EPCOT to take in the sights and sounds of the opening day — and you’re coming with us! Let’s check out the crowds, the merch, the Virtual Queue, and more!

We’ve already ridden the ride and have seen the queue, heard the songs you could get while on board, learned about the villain, and seen ALL of the merchandise that will be available! We also shared that a standby line will not be available for this ride for the time being, and instead a virtual queue will be used. Guests will also have the option to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane reservation (or pay-per-ride) the morning they wish to ride, and now we have more details on how much that will cost!

We’ve rewatched the movies, listened to the soundtrack, and mentally prepared ourselves because Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is officially open! This non-stop entertainment-filled attraction has been in the works for years, and guests can now enjoy all that it has to offer — IF they can get a boarding group or a Lightning Lane. That might prove to be rather difficult, as boarding groups for Cosmic Rewind were gone FAST this morning!

It’s a great day to be at this park because Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is officially open! We’ve been waiting on the edge of our seats ever since Disney first announced the attraction. And it looks like we weren’t the only ones, either, as the Individual Lightning Lane passes for Cosmic Rewind sold out SUPER quickly this morning!

It opens TOMORROW!
We’ve already gotten a sneak peek of the queue, been able to ride the rollercoaster (spoiler alert: it’s awesome), and even seen the merchandise that will be available to purchase tomorrow when the rollercoaster and its gift shop, The Treasures of Xandar opens! Now, Disney has offered some more information about merchandise that will be available on opening day!
We’re just a few days away from a VERY exciting occasion in Disney World!

Yep, that’s right, it’s save the galaxy time! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens at EPCOT this Friday, May 27th.
