And while our eyes feasted on the stunning masterpiece crafted by Disney’s super-talented pastry chefs, we couldn’t wait to see what goodies would be available at the snack shop — nestled INSIDE the Gingerbread House!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa today was FILLED with the sweet aroma of freshly baked gingerbread this morning!

And we were there to see this grand Disney World tradition (over 20 years in the making!) make its big debut — the Grand Floridian’s FABULOUS Gingerbread House!

There’s been much a buzz about one of Walt Disney World’s earliest resorts, Grand Floridian, with the recent opening of The Beauty & The Beast inspired lounge, Enchanted Rose, as well as the recent installation of the beloved Gingerbread House. One of the most MASSIVE of Disney Holiday treat traditions has been found in the lobby of Grand Floridian Resort for over 20 years. Every year this structural confection appears in the lobby of the Grand Floridian and it’s so big it even features its own snack stand inside the house! The construction is always a huge effort and we saw the first steps go into place today at the resort!

Is it that they’re positively MASSIVE? Or maybe its the level of detail that the Disney pastry artists put into these magical cookie-based creations? Whatever the reason, we keep coming back year after year to see the awesome gingerbread artwork to be found around Disney World. And if you’re like us, you won’t want to miss out on any of this year’s displays!
The mermaid themed dessert trend shows little sign of slowing down at Walt Disney World. We’ve seen many incarnations, including treats at Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery and the BoardWalk Bakery, and we can’t forget about the mezMERizing mermaid cupcake we found earlier this year over at Disney’s Art of Animation. It was truly a work of art!
But today we are swimming on over to Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort for a new treat!
