It’s certainly not news that people are LOVING Universal’s brand-new theme park, Epic Universe (it’s us, we’re “people”).

With five immersive lands, incredible theming, exciting entertainment, stellar attractions, and more, it’s no wonder this land is getting so much love. And, in a recent Comcast earnings call (the parent company of Universal), it was revealed that Epic Universe is responsible for more spending at Universal Orlando.
The Walt Disney Company and NBCUniversal filed a suit on June 11th against AI company Midjourney over alleged copyright infringement, Axios reports.

The lawsuit alleges that Midjourney’s image-generating service “functions as a virtual vending machine” that creates “endless unauthorized copies” of copyrighted works.
In a time when the theme park arms race is heating up, could Disney possibly be helping out a competitor?

Universal Orlando Resort is getting ready to open its latest park, Epic Universe and the whole theme park-going world is going crazy with anticipation (us included). While Disney has plans for its own expansion, is it possible The Walt Disney Company is helping Universal build Epic Universe? Maybe.
In late April, it was announced that construction for Universal Orlando Resort’s upcoming theme park, Epic Universe, had met with delays in light of the current global situation which has led to the temporary closure of Universal Orlando as well as Walt Disney World Resort and other area destinations.

Epic Universe was originally slated to open in 2023, and even with the announced delay in construction, it had not been revealed how the delay would affect the opening timeline. Shortly after we saw the Disney parks shut their doors, we started to see stores, restaurants, and experiences across the country, like movie theaters, close down as well.

With distributors unable to theatrically release their content, some have turned to digital at-home releases instead. Is this a temporary trend out of necessity, or could Disney capitalize on this with their future film releases?

Epic Universe will ultimately join Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and the Volcano Bay water park when it makes its debut at the Resort. The state of Florida has recently put together a task force charged with brainstorming and orchestrating the reopening of the state as the global health crisis improves.

The task force, which includes Disney World President Josh D’Amaro, met today to discuss what sort of health measures may be necessary for industries throughout the state — including the Orlando theme parks. Though Disney did not speak at the meeting, Universal Orlando brought up several possibilities that their teams have been looking at to keep guests and employees safe.
