Disneyland peeps, we’ve got some breaking news for ya!
Starting October 15th in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, guests will be able to get some of their FastPasses digitally!
We think Disney theme parks are pretty spectacular, but there are a few things that can make the Disney Parks experience even MORE exciting! We love our MagicBands (despite the ordering glitches!) and Mobile Order, but today we want to talk to you about the Play Disney Parks App.
This app allows you to earn different achievements by participating in attraction-themed activities on your phone. That’s pretty cool on its own, but wouldn’t it be even cooler to earn commemorative pins for your achievements?
The FastPass+ tiers at Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Epcot can have a big effect on your overall Disney World Park strategy. While Magic Kingdom doesn’t have tiers, we can only reserve an advance FastPass+ for one top attraction at the other three parks, meaning you’ve gotta plan pretty carefully if you want to hit all of those E-ticket rides.
And now your FastPass+ strategy may be about to change even more at Hollywood Studios.
Have you ever wanted to just be able to walk onto popular Hollywood Studios attractions like Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror, and Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster with no wait? How about being able to do that while eating all of the popcorn, soda, and Mickey bars you can possibly hold?
Sounds like a dream, right? Well, guess what: it’s actually exactly what happens at After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We’re here to tell you all about it, including our thoughts and how to determine if these events are a good investment for you. Ready? As Slinky Dog says, “hold on!”

Can you believe it’s almost been one whole year since Star Wars: The Force Awakens made its debut? And now we’re getting ready for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to open in theaters on December 16th! To celebrate, Disney recently transformed Spaceship Earth into the Death Star at a Disney Parks Blog Meet-up.
Though the event took place at Epcot, Disney made several Star Wars announcements regarding Hollywood Studios for the near future…as we await the addition of Star Wars Land in the not-so-near future 😉 . [Read more…]

Remember a few months ago when Disney released a new Early Morning Magic option for early birds at Magic Kingdom?
Here’s the basic gist: purchase of a limited-entry special ticket event — in addition to regular park admission — allows guests to enter the park early and ride a few in-demand attractions before the park’s regular opening and enjoy an included breakfast to boot. Well, it appears a similar event is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Early Morning Magic participants will have the chance to enjoy Star Tours and Toy Story Mania, as well as participate in Meet and Greets with Mickey and Minnie, Woody and Buzz, and Olaf. The event runs from 7:45 am to 10:00 am on select Mondays and Wednesdays, and is currently bookable via the Disney World website (or by calling 407-827-7350) for dates beginning August 1st through the end of September 2016. “The Force… it’s calling to you.”
Beginning January 5, 2016, a new celebration of the Star Wars film franchise will kick off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Season of the Force!
Now, some new components will actually be added to the park starting December 1, 2015, such as scene enhancements to the Star Tours attraction, and a new version of the Jedi Training Academy: Trials of the Temple. The brand new Star Wars Launch Bay will also debut in Animation Courtyard, which will include character meet-and-greets, interactive video games, and opportunities to check out memorabilia and replicas of Star Wars artifacts. Oh, and some merchandise may be up for grabs, too ;). [Read more…]

Ladies and Gents, my next round-up will be coming to you from Walt Disney World! Very exciting, but right now, let’s talk about the great — and not-so-great — Disney food news from this week:
Also, we got word from DFB reader Lori Kiehl that ‘Ohana might be closed during breakfast from 17-20 of January. No official word on that, but FYI.
And now, on to the round-up!
Studios Central shows a detailed look at where you can find elements of Star Tours in Disney Hollywood Studios’ Sci-Fi Dine-In.
Main St Gazette reviews the Zebra Cupcake in Animal Kingdom (agreed that the cake was the best part on this one, Ryan!)
OC Register reports as Disney California Adventure says goodbye Pizza Oom Mow Mow and hello Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta.
Disney Geek shows off the new Halloween popcorn bucket for the Disney parks!
etckt reviews Via Napoli!
WDW Magic reports that Bongos Cuban Cafe has been added to the Disney Dining Reservations System.

Disney Dispatch is also counting down to the Festival with a look at Argentina.
WDW Info reports that Chef Mickey is no longer table-side at Chef Mickey’s in WDW’s Contemporary Resort. According to user reports, he’s up front taking pics now rather than visiting table-side.
Finally, I wanted to share with you a few other perspectives on the La Hacienda de San Angel opening in Epcot this past week. Scott Joseph, Orlando’s premier food critic, has a fantastic video from his experience at the Grand Opening:
And here are some write-ups from around the Disney-sphere about the Grand Opening event:
