This stunning restaurant opened in 2024 with giant slices of cake, an abundance of floral decor, and slightly controversial prices. It has been pretty popular since then, with offerings like afternoon tea and seasonal decor (the girlies in particular love to dine here). But now, it’s making a change this spring!
Let’s talk about something we absolutely love: cake. We love cake in all kinds of shapes, configurations, and flavors. We love cupcakes, and we love cake pops, cake bars, and we love cake slices.

Now, there are several places in Disney World where you can grab some really good cake slices, but there’s one bakery we keep going back to again and again because it has those kinds of cake slices that make you feel like you’re celebrating a special occasion even when you’re not. So yep, we’re back at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers to try a new cake slice flavor.
We’ve been eating a lot of holiday treats in Disney World, including treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. That means we’ve tried a lot of peppermint-flavored things at this point.

However, we just had a slice of cake at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk that blows away all its peppermint-flavored competition, so let’s talk about it.

Maybe you love jewelry and you want something that’s a little different than the standard Pandora bracelets and charms you can get just about anywhere. Maybe you collect pins, but you want something a little different from the normal Disney pins you can find in Disney World and Disneyland. Well, if you love food…or more specifically, two Disney dining spots, your new unique souvenir has arrived.
It’s no secret that we love The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. It’s just one of those super special places in Disney World where you can have a fancy meal and an even fancier slice of cake.

Now, don’t get us wrong — this is not somewhere you’d want to eat every day of your Disney World trip, but it is where you go for a special occasion (or if you just want to feel special). However, we do return here often, especially when new menu items drop. Well, five new menu items have arrived at The Cake Bake Shop and you bet we dropped everything to go check them out.

Dining here certainly isn’t cheap, but it’s home to some truly fantastic dining options, desserts, and more, and many of our readers feel it’s a great place to go for a special event or celebration. Most Disney World restaurants and attractions have reopened after the 2020 closures, but if you look closely, there are still some that have yet to come back, and we don’t know if they ever will.

Tables in Wonderland hasn’t made a reappearance, Restaurant Marrakesh in EPCOT has been closed for so long we don’t know if it’ll ever return, and of course, we can’t forget about the elegant tea service that used to be offered at the Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. But now that Disney has a new tea service, will we ever see it return?
Okay, we know that the prices of cake slices at The Cake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers have been pretty controversial, but overall, we’ve liked pretty much every slice of cake we’ve tried. The cakes here are an indulgence when you want to throw down some $$$ for something to celebrate a memorable moment or occasion.
