News! PizzeRizzo to Open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 18 (Plus a Few More Details!)

The opening date has been set for PizzeRizzo! The Counter Service eatery will open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 18th!

PizzeRizzo!

And we’ve got some details on the eats, too! While we have long known that the specialty of the house would be — obviously! — pizza (and it looks like the pizza will be pretty much the same as what was served at this spot’s predecessor, Toy Story Pizza Planet), it seems there will be a bit more to the menu.

Each Personal-sized Pizza entree — with choices including Veggie, Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, and Cheese — will be served with a side Caesar salad. A Meatball Sub will also be on the menu, as well as an Antipasto Salad (Romaine lettuce with tomatoes, Mozzarella, Kalamata olives, ham, pepperoni, salami, and Balsamic Vinaigrette).

Dessert options will feature Cannoli and Tiramisu. Specialty drinks will step outside the Counter Service norm with options such as a non-alcoholic Peach Bellini. Wine and beer will be available for guests 21 and over, along with a Wildberry-Basil Lemonade Limoncello.

Some further information has also been released regarding the decor.

Be sure to look all over the restaurant for signs of Rizzo the Rat of Muppets fame as well as his extended family and friends who have paid visits to the restaurant over the years.

Your inner party-goer will definitely want to seek out a seat UPSTAIRS in Rizzo’s Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall, where a wedding reception will be “already in progress…” COMPLETE with a disco ball and accompanied by a party playlist!

Looks like I’ve still got a few weeks to brush up on some of my best wedding dances. (I don’t wanna brag or anything, but I do a pretty mean “Sprinkler.”) I hope to see YOU on the dance floor at PizzeRizzo!

Is PizzeRizzo on your list to visit in Hollywood Studios? Please let us know with a comment!

News: Food and Beverage Marketplace Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Okay, so there are PLENTY of changes happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that you probably know about already. For instance, construction is underway for the future Toy Story and Star Wars Lands, and that’s resulted in the closure of several eateries around the park (most recently, we said goodbye to Writer’s Stop).

Remembering Writer’s Stop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Well, we had hoped against hope that it wouldn’t happen… but it has.

Last week, we said goodbye to the Writer’s Stop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In order to make way for the construction of the future Star Wars and Toy Story Lands, the closure of the Streets of America section of the park began in April, resulting in the removal of several eateries in the area like Studio Catering Co., High Octane Refreshments, and Herbie’s Drive-In. The beloved little Writer’s Stop, however, escaped the first round of closures.

It wasn’t without a change of its own, though. In April, Writer’s Stop began operating as a de facto lounge for guests awaiting their Advance Dining Reservation for the neighboring Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant instead of as the pastry, coffee, and book store it was best known as over the years.

Through the changes, the Writer’s Stop was a small corner of peaceful respite during a very busy park day. (Since the Streets of America section of the park was an assemblage of building false fronts and film sets, many guests would pass right on by Writer’s Stop, assuming it was more of the same.) Review: Deep Space Odyssey Cocktail at Pixar Place Pop-Up Bar in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

My, how the landscape has changed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

"Please Pardon Our Pixie Dust"

“Please Pardon Our Pixie Dust”

As the park dives into construction for the future Toy Story and Star Wars Lands, one of the places where change is most noticeable is around Pixar Place. While it used to be that you could continue your stroll past Toy Story Mania and then head towards the Streets of America, when you continue your walk these days you’ll encounter… construction walls.
