Over the last decade, MagicBands have become an integral part of the Walt Disney World experience. The modern MagicBand+ models serve multiple functions, including functioning as a Walt Disney World or Disneyland entry ticket, checking in for Lightning Lanes and connecting with Photopass, and reacting to select Disney theme park attractions with special lights and vibrations!
However, these upgrades have come at a price… literally. The most significant difference between the 2013 model and the models we have today is that they are no longer free or even discounted for hotel guests, which is partially why experts are refusing to pay for MagicBands now.
I go to Disney World for the rides. Yes, yes, I love trying new snacks that become new favorites and watching Disney’s nighttime spectaculars, which usually end with me in tears (I swear Happily Ever After was made to have you cry, okay?), but there’s something about the rides that always keeps me coming back time and time again.
I’ve been on just about every ride at Disney World (okay, admittedly, I haven’t been on Astro Orbiters yet, but I have been at Disneyland, and that should count for something), but there are some I avoid at all costs — including the beloved Slinky Dog Dash.
The Walt Disney Company has announced Josh D’Amaro as the new Chief Executive Officer. We’ve been waiting and waiting for this news to be announced since the current CEO, Bob Iger, announced that he would be leaving by the end of 2026.
While D’Amaro becoming the next CEO is no surprise since he has been a big name in the company for a while now, and has been the Disney Experiences Chairman since 2020, we were a bit surprised to see his start date be March 18th, 2026.
