This new spot was originally set to open in late 2023, but was pushed back to Fall 2024, which means now is the time to finally try out items from the menu and see if the wild price tags we’ve seen are really worth the experience. We tried some of the bakery options already, but now it’s time to grab some items off of the dinner menu!
The wait is FINALLY over, friends — this restaurant on Disney’s BoardWalk has opened its doors, and we couldn’t be happier!

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers has been highly anticipated for many years now. Originally scheduled to open in 2023, the opening was pushed to early 2024…then Fall 2024, and here we are! Today, October 24th, The Cake Bake Shop soft opened the doors to its first Florida location — come take a look inside with us!
Well, a new Disney World spot that we were honestly starting to think would NEVER open has taken a huge step toward opening its doors!

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is opening on Disney’s BoardWalk, located right near Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, later this year. It was originally slated to open in late 2023, qand didn’t. Then it was slated for early 2024, and it also didn’t open then. Just NOW are we starting to see signs that it’ll be open before the end of this year. However, Disney fans have some THOUGHTS about this new spot now that the menu has been revealed, and trust us, we hear you!
It seems like at least part of Disney World is ALWAYS under construction. Sure, EPCOT finally has most of its construction walls down, but there’s still a lot of construction happening elsewhere.
Disney’s BoardWalk
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting some new DVC villas, and construction is well underway for that. Over at Disney’s BoardWalk, we’re seeing a TON of construction with both the upcoming The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. However, we just spotted some NEW construction happening over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Yes, the construction never ends, y’all.
OK, is it just us, or has it felt like YEARS since Disney announced The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers would be coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Luckily, we can assure you this new snack spot is still on the way!

While 2024 is a big year for new offerings coming to Disney World, we’re very intrigued by one in particular — The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. The table service restaurant was announced all the way back in 2022 and was originally supposed to open last year but has been delayed into 2024. Nevertheless, the restaurant seems to be progressing towards opening, and we just got a major update about its soon-to-be-offered confections!
