2021 is Disney World’s 50th anniversary!

To celebrate, we’re getting new costumes for Mickey and Minnie and even a ride’s grand opening! The celebration will be 18 months long, and we can’t wait for it to kick off on October 1st! But a HUGE part of the anniversary are the mini-transformations coming to each of the park’s icons, and today, we got a closer look at one of them.

And it was a beautiful day to just take in the sights (like does Cinderella Castle EVER get old?), see what kind of new merch we could find, and eat a few of our favorite snacks! So let’s see what’s new?

We’ve seen changes made recently to Disney’s face mask policy. We’ve also seen refurbishments announced for rides and locations all over the parks, plexiglass added to more rides, and changes made to ride seating arrangements. Today we spotted another change — but this time the change is related to Disney World’s Park Pass Theme Park Reservation system.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Lately, we’ve noticed Disney has stopped socially distancing rows on many of their rides. And while slower-moving rides like Frozen Ever After or Living with the Land have installed plexiglass shields between rows, that has not been the case with roller coaster-like rides such as Slinky Dog Dash and Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster. And recently, we noticed another fast-moving ride has gotten the same treatment.
It’s no secret that Disney trips require some serious planning.

Cinderella Castle already got a new paint job, but it’s getting some more sprucing up now. We’ve also seen various hotel areas, hotel pools, and rides all over Disney World get some updates. And now a MAJOR spot in Magic Kingdom is set to receive some refurbishment too!

Even though a small majority of the U.S. population plans to travel this year, we’re still expecting MAJOR crowds in the parks. Disney’s been preparing, too: they’ve recently extended park hours and added Park Pass reservations. And guys, the time is HERE. We were checkin’ up on Disney’s Park Pass availability calendar when we noticed something HUGE. We couldn’t believe our eyes, so we kept refreshing and refreshing and…guys, it’s actually true. Magic Kingdom park passes are available for Annual Passholders and Resort Guests on October 1st, 2021!
