There have been a few changes since our last update, so let’s dive right in and recap what there is to see and do at Animal Kingdom.

Disney Animals are so unpredictable and fun
From abandoned DOLE Whips (😭) to lonely balloons to fun Cast Member antics, we LIVE for those surprises. But when it comes to the best unexpected events, we have to give mad props to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, that is full of animals, which — as we all know — are quite unpredictable.

We’re just enjoying this bit of quiet time at Disney World before the next big festival (Oh, EPCOT Festival of the Arts, we are SO ready to eat ALL your noms), but that doesn’t mean that things aren’t changing at Disney World restaurants. We’ve got some menu updates for you that you’ll need to know about! So here we go!
It’s time to take a look at all the construction going on around Disney World!
Magic Kingdom
2021 was filled with tons of different projects as Disney spruced up the parks for the 50th-anniversary and, while we had a few months where things calmed down, refurbishments are BACK in full swing throughout the parks and resorts. So, this week we’re seeing what’s being done at an upcoming attraction in Magic Kingdom, a newly closed fan-favorite ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and more — let’s get to it!

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change and develop, we’ve kept looking for updates on mask rules, isolation requirements, testing recommendations, and more, all of which could impact your next park trip.
COVID-19 Health and Safety Sign
One thing you might be using a lot of right now, whether you’re at home or in the parks, is hand sanitizer. If you’re planning to visit Disney World soon, you might be wondering what the hand sanitizing situation looks like there to help you prepare and determine whether to bring your own sanitizer. Are there hand sanitizing stations readily available? Do they actually work and are they actually full with the sanitizing liquid?
Well, you know you can RELY ON US to do the HARD HITTING REPORTING on those sanitizer stations throughout WDW. 😀 Yep, that’s right — we asked our incredible DFB reporters to check hand sani stations during their shifts to get the 411 on the sanitizer situation! (In all seriousness, this really is good info for folks to note when they’re prepping for their trips.) Note that our reporters did this research over several days, and checked sanitizer stations that they would normally be using at that time to get a broad overview of the status of sani in the parks. Here’s what we’re seeing; and stay tuned at the bottom of this post for a good overview.
Disney World can sometimes experience unexpected closures and problems in the parks, but there are other changes that you can plan for.

Have you ever ridden Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? If so, you’ll probably know what we’re talking about.
Flight of Passage
If you’ve visited Pandora in Animal Kingdom or seen the movie Avatar, you might already know what a Banshee is. Basically, it’s a dragon-like creature that Avatar characters ride, and you get a chance to ride one yourself on the ride Flight of Passage. You can also “adopt” (aka purchase) your very own Banshee toy — and we have a bit of an update!

And it won’t be long before Valentine’s Day, so January is already gearing up to be an exciting month at Disney World. Not to mention, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts will begin soon!
