Gideon’s Bakehouse has entered their soft opening stage in Disney Springs and let’s just say we’ve had a LOT of cookies (and we’re not mad about it).

But, there’s so much more than just cookies at this spot. There’s also cold brew coffee and giant slices of cake. You can even buy CUPS of FROSTING from Gideon’s! But, aside from their food, their Disney Springs location also has a mysterious backstory that we’ve been following for quite some time, and today we got a bit more of the story behind some of the portraits that are featured inside their store!

If you’ve ever browsed the list of Disney World’s rules and policies, you would probably spot several unsurprising additions — for example, weapons are prohibited, as are illegal substances. But what about some of the more unexpected rules?? Let’s take a look at eight of Disney World’s weirdest rules…and why they exist!
Since Disney World has reopened, character experiences have looked a bit different than before. This not only includes meet-and-greets in the parks but character dining experiences too!
Chef Mickey’s
That’s why as soon as we heard Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (one of the most iconic character dining locations in all of Disney World) would be bringing its characters back, we knew we had to check it out! While there were some issues originally trying to grab a reservation, we were lucky enough to snag one. This meal has been updated when it reopened in July, serving breakfast to your table as an all-you-care-to-eat meal, rather than the usual buffet.
We’ve seen Mickey and his friends in the holiday cavalcades and some character dining experiences, and we’ve waved at him as he stood on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station, but now there’s one more spot to find the mouse!

A few months ago, Disney shared that some of our favorite characters would soon be making their way back to Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the day has finally arrived!
One of the most fun things about Disney World is that there are surprises around every corner!

From the random character cavalcades to the most unique holiday decorations to cool new merchandise, Disney World is ALWAYS full of such surprises, too! Recently, we shared that more characters should start showing up in the resorts soon.
Since Disney World reopened, we’ve mostly been seeing characters EXCLUSIVELY in the parks.

There have been a few exceptions though. When Disney Springs reopened, we spotted Storm Troopers making announcements, and just yesterday Goofy and Pluto were out saying hi to guests from Disney’s Beach Club Resort’s Stormalong Bay pool. And, of course, you can meet characters at Topolino’s Terrace and soon at Chef Mickey’s. Now, there’s a chance that we’ll see MORE characters visiting the resort hotels soon!

Although typical character meet-and-greets are not currently operating as normal due to health and safety guidelines, Disney has come up with some creative ways for us to still see our favorite pals!

And this time, Christmas magic is in the air. Last time we were here, we were SHOCKED by how wonderful the food was. So we’re back to see if anything has been added to the menu and to see Mickey and his pals in their Christmas outfits!
