Earl of Sandwich is a GREAT spot to grab a quick bite in Disney Springs.
We stopped by this sandwich shop with historic origins recently to try one of their newest menu items: the Cuban Sandwich!
OK y’all, buckle up! There is a LOT of new stuff going on at Disney Springs this week!
If you don’t usually hit up the Springs on your Disney World trip, you may want to reconsider this week, because we’ve seen super yummy new snacks with the Flavors of Florida event, new pins and magic bands, and the most crazy expensive necklace ever (after). (You’ll see why that’s funny in a sec… .)
If you haven’t tried a sandwich straight from the inventor of sandwiches, you need to head into Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs!
The restaurant (inspired by the inventor of sandwiches, John Montagu) features sandwiches on freshly baked artisanal bread with house-roasted meats! They’ve got some great flavors already, and now they’re adding a new, limited-time-only sandwich! [Read more…]
The restaurants at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have undergone many wonderful changes in the past year. We know navigating these changes can be confusing — but don’t worry, beach happy, the DFB Team is here to review it all for you!
Our most recent visit takes us back to Centertown Market for lunch! Let’s dive right in…
Welcome back to Backlot Express!
This counter service option is quite possibly the most popular in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (with the exception of the relatively new Woody’s Lunch Box). Known for its highly detailed movie warehouse setting and classic dishes like chicken nuggets, burgers, and salads, it’s a spot which appeals to many guests.
The past couple of years, Backlot Express has also been known as the spot to find some Star Wars themed eats among the offerings. The Royal Guard Burger and Dark Side Chicken and Waffles (with said waffles emblazoned with Darth Vader) were found as entrees in front of Star Wars cupcakes for dessert options featuring an array of characters ranging over the years from Darth Vader and Yoda to Chewbacca and BB-8 and beyond.
We’re here today, though, to check out the newly revamped menu and to discover what’s changed and what’s remained the same on the menu at Backlot Express! [Read more…]
in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs has garnered a massive following among Disney food fans — including us! We love this place, where comfort food and tasty drinks are always at the ready! So when the table service spot announced a new menu back in early-December I had to get in there to try it!
Before I get into the eats, let’s just mull over this Whiskey Menu (and the delightful fact that Homecomin’ has a menu just. for. whiskey).
is serving up some new dishes with southern style!
Under Starters, new on the menu are Hot Legs! Four hand-breaded chicken legs (tossed in Homecomin’s Fresno pepper hot sauce) are served lollipop-style. These take the place of the Ham and Cheese Biscuits.
A new Cuban Sandwich with house-smoked pork, shaved country ham, house made pickles and Swiss Cheese is available under “Buns & Such,” taking the place of the Barbecue Pork Bun. [Read more…]
Located near the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim’s Downtown Disney, the ESPN Zone is a great place to take a pit stop in the middle of a long Disneyland day. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Monorail Station the ESPN Zone has something for everyone in your party.
We recently headed over for an afternoon of food and fun. Upon entering we were greeted by a fabulous team of hostesses who immediately took us to a table. We visited mid week in the early afternoon and there was no wait. However, if the World Cup had been playing, we probably couldn’t get near the place!
The menu at ESPN Zone is full of your traditional American type favorites. Items include Ribs, Chicken, Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, & Wraps.
In addition to their regular menu, ESPN Zone currently has some very tasty Summer menu offerings. AND on this special menu, you can find [Read more…]
Sometimes I need a little Gloria Estefan in my life, so I high tail it over to Bongos Cuban Cafe!
I’m just kidding. I rarely need any Gloria Estefan in my life, but I DO need the deliciousness that is Bongos. Seriously, you guys, I haven’t had a bad meal here…ever. It’s a hidden gem, and if you haven’t been there, start your planning engines for your next trip!
It’s Cuban food of awesomeness — tons of flavor, not-always-efficient-but-at-least-friendly service, and drinks that are BIGGER THAN YOUR HEAD. Plus souvenir glasses. And POPSYCAKES!
Located in Downtown Disney West Side, most Disney guests know this eatery as “the place with the big pineapple out front.” During the evening, Bongos looks and feels like a nightclub that you’d find in Old Havana or South Beach. It’s like a party waiting to happen, this place.
Open and airy, you can imagine the celebration spilling out onto the “street” during especially festive times.
And a festive good time is what you’d expect here, as is evident from the two bars that dominate the inside.
Sit yourself down on actual bongos at the bar up front! Fun (and REALLY uncomfortable!).
So if you’re tired of sitting on the Bongos, no worries; this place offers a wide array of seating areas. The upstairs seating area — both inside and outside on the balcony — offer good views of the surrounding Downtown Disney area.
It may be a teensy bit quieter upstairs at night, but during the day (for lunch) the whole place is nice and relaxed.
Yep — two-story ceilings and [Read more…]
