Over the decades, the amount of pre-planning that goes into a Disney World trip has increased substantially. Between special events, fluctuating ticket prices based on date, Lightning Lanes, dining reservations, etc., it has become common for guests to lock their trip in months — or even a year — in advance. What about planning further ahead, though? How about by OVER 20 years?
Well, if you are a fan of solar eclipses, you may want to consider planning a Disney World trip for August 12th, 2045.
Have you heard? Today is National Plan for Vacation Day! We were thinking that there’s no better day to start planning our Disney vacations for 2026 than today. You know, so we can really celebrate the day!

I sacrificed my feet for science…and real-world Disney experience.

What shoes do you wear in the parks?
If you’re trying to decide between Brooks and HOKA shoes for your next Disney World trip, you’ve found the right Disney World reporter, who’s been there, done that, and lived to tell the tale. I’ve tested multiple versions of popular shoe brands during my days at Disney World in search of a clear winner. While you might be thinking, “Both brands should have held up well, duh!” I’m most invested in breaking down exactly what “well” means for your feet and how that might affect your upcoming trip.
If you can only go to ONE Disney World restaurant in 2026…here’s the cheat code.

Breakfast at Boma
Some Disney meals are good…and then there are the ones that become core memories. Disney World has no shortage of great restaurants with exceptional eats, but ff you could only choose one restaurant to experience in 2026, there are a few that instantly come to mind capable of delivering unforgettable flavors, immersive theming, and that “wow” feeling that makes Disney dining so special.
The Walt Disney Company is bringing a seventh theme park to life in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The park will operate in collaboration with Miral, “Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences.”
Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be fully developed and built by Miral, with Disney Imagineers leading creative design and operational oversight. Disney’s decision has been met with sharp criticism and logistical questions about how the theme park will operate on Yas Island, but that hasn’t stopped CEO Bob Iger from sharing photos from his most recent visit to the site of the future theme park.
Here at Disney Food Blog, there’s only one thing we love more than Disney food – Disney drinks! Grabbing an iced refresher on a hot day is our favorite guilty pleasure. And since there’s a Starbucks in all four parks and Disney Springs, they keep our caffeine addiction going from rope drop to fireworks.
A lot of people don’t know that the Disney Starbucks has the same customizable menu as the Starbucks in your neighborhood. Plus, Disney Parks’ Starbucks often keeps seasonal flavors like pumpkin or caramel brûlée in stock when your local Starbucks runs out (they still had pumpkin spice lattes on New Year’s Day). The sky’s the limit!
The Disney Skyliner closes today! This is one of our favorite modes of transportation, a skyway gondola that connects Disney World’s EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and resorts. It’s closing this week for routine maintenance.
The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 25th to January 31st. Disney will provide alternate transportation for guests, notably complimentary buses, but there are even more transportation methods you can take. Here’s how to get around in the meantime!
Our handy (and portable!) ebook guides make sure you get the best deals and can plan a vacation of a lifetime.
