food IS a theme park
We won’t lie — we’ve been spending a lot of time at Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe theme park. The new park pretty much does live up to its “epic” name, after all.
We’ve also enjoyed checking out ALL the restaurants and snack spots throughout Epic Universe in each of its five lands, but our most recent visit uncovered some exciting news: a NEW restaurant will be opening in Epic Universe in 2026. Yep, Epic Universe is already getting ready to add something NEW.
The EPCOT transformation may be complete, but there are a few more projects left to be finished!
EPCOT
The two major things coming to EPCOT next are the reopening of Test Track after its transformation, as well as the opening of a brand-new lounge! And if you’re as hyped about a new lounge as we are, we’ve got some important information for you.
Either before you run into Epic Universe to meet your favorite Nintendo characters or need a relaxing end to your day after flying with a dragon, enjoying a relaxing sit-down meal is a great addition to your Universal Orlando trip.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel
We visited Flora Taverna at the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, where we got amazing views of Epic Universe and an incredible meal. This is one of the three hotels built for Epic, and it overlooks Celestial Park. Let’s dive in!
Disneyland Paris has released a LOT of news recently, including changes to one of its hotels, Disney Sequoia Lodge, and new details for the upcoming Lion King attraction, and a new Up-themed ride. On top of all of that, Disney released another announcement we know you’re going to love.

We’ve been visiting the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for its grand opening, and it has been a blast so far! We’ve been able to check out the hotel rooms, explore the lobby, and of course, take a look at all the amenities. But you know what we’re really excited to find out more about? The FOOD.
If there’s one thing that we love here at DFB, it’s a new Disney World restaurant!
Magic Kingdom
We get SO hyped any time that Disney announces a new place to dine in the parks or resorts, and coming in 2025, we’ve got a few new spots to add to that list. One of those places is a lounge coming to Magic Kingdom, and we just got more information about when it’s opening!

Swig just opened a brand-new location in Clermont, Florida! The drive-through soda fountain chain is expanding, and Central Florida is welcoming the new store. The location is located about 30-40 minutes away from Disney World.
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is located at Disney’s BoardWalk. We have been keeping a close eye on the restaurant for a long time now, and we are eagerly awaiting its grand opening.

Seating has popped up outside and we have seen private events happening recently, so we are hoping this new restaurant will open its doors soon. We got a glimpse at the menu ahead of the restaurant’s opening a few weeks ago, and we recently noticed that something has CHANGED!
