Well, it’s no secret that planning a trip to Disney World can be pretty expensive.

It’s also no secret that price increases happen a LOT on Disney World food, and if you’re planning on eating at your hotel food court, we’ve got some news about that, too.

Okay, EVERY week is an exciting week for food in Disney World for us. But this week, we saw a brand new restaurant open, Summer House on the Lake, in Disney Springs, PLUS we ate almost everything from its Cookie Bar. We also kept an eye on all the other restaurants in Disney World and we’ve noted some menu changes.
Few Disney World hotels have a hold on us like Pop Century.

We can’t explain it! This value resort is known for its quirky decor, fun pool bar, low prices compared to other resorts, and more. And, Pop Century recently celebrated a pretty big milestone — its 20th Anniversary! Disney partied in a major way, and we have to say — we’re a little jealous we didn’t get an invite.

Not only is it one of Disney World’s value resorts (making it more affordable than many of Disney’s other hotels), but it also has access to a Skyliner station, Disney’s newest mode of transportation. There’s also the fun theming with the decades represented in each hotel section. However, we’ve come across some things that almost ALWAYS seem to happen when we stay there that we need to warn you about.

Pop Century Resort
While Deluxe and even Moderate resorts often have multiple restaurants with various cuisine offerings, the Value Resorts are typically limited to a pool bar and a cafeteria-style quick service restaurant. But don’t worry — it’s definitely possible to find good things to eat at those places! And we recently stopped at Disney’s Pop Century Resort to prove it.
Some guests feel like staying at a Disney resort is the better choice when on vacation at Disney World. It is true there is a lot that you receive when staying on-property that you can’t get anywhere else.
