One Disney World restaurant has been closed for a while now, and we’re wondering what’s going on!

Over the years, we’ve seen quite a few Disney World restaurants shut down, but often, they’re quickly replaced with something new and fresh. Of course, after the pandemic in 2020, some restaurants never reopened or returned to their original form, without any kind of explanation. And today, we’re here to discuss one that’s still confusing us — Tomorrowland Terrace!
Sure, Star Wars fans can visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland to get their fill of all things Star Wars. But there’s also a way to have some legit Star Wars fun in Tomorrowland, too, through the Star Tours ride. After all, this ride was the FIRST Star Wars attraction in Disneyland.
Star Tours
However, Star Tours closed on June 30th for refurbishment (aka probably some much-needed maintenance) and has remained closed since then. However, we think the Disneyland calendar just unveiled the reopening date for Star Tours: September 5th.
Listen, I’ve been to Magic Kingdom COUNTLESS times, but when I tell you I’ve never seen construction at this level before, I mean it. And guess what? It’s about to get MORE intense.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Magic Kingdom has THREE big construction projects happening right now — Piston Peak, Villains Land, and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment, but there’s another one that’s about to be added to the list. If you love this Tomorrowland attraction as much as we do, you’ve got to ride it in the next week before it changes forever!

It has been a year of ride closures at Disney World as Disney prepares for many big changes in the future. The closures have been taking up so many headlines that the opening of this Magic Kingdom ride has gone under the radar. We think a popular ride could be opening very soon, and we have good reason to think that!
Okay, so Disneyland is practically ALWAYS getting new snacks…like ALL the time. Honestly, we wouldn’t blame you if you had trouble keeping up.
Disneyland Tomorrowland
Now, we’ve already made our way through a lot of the 70th Anniversary Celebration snacks (and found a few favorites), but there’s a new snack that just popped up in Tomorrowland, and well, Disney, you had us interested because it’s a French fry-based snack. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Over in Frontierland, Disney is getting ready to permanently close Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island to start work on Piston Peak, a new Cars expansion. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently getting a massive refurbishment. In Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter is getting put back together after a refurbishment. Meanwhile, another ride in Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close in August for a big refurbishment, and we now have a permit that hints at some of the work to be done at this attraction.
Y’all…there are so many changes happening in Magic Kingdom that’s it’s HARD to keep up, but we’re trying.
Tomorrowland
For starters, we’re starting to see permits come in for work in the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island locations as Disney prepares to convert that into a Cars expansion in Frontierland (with two NEW rides!). Then, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a MAJOR overhaul and will be closed for the rest of the year. PLUS a NEW Villains land will be going BEHIND Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at some point. That’s not all, though. A classic Tomorrowland attraction, Astro Orbiter, has been getting a bit of a facelift, too. Well, now we’re seeing signs of progress there. Let’s see what’s new!

As part of the festivities, there will be new ride additions, brand-new attractions, the return of fan-favorite parades, and so much more — like a whole lot of exciting entertainment. We’re talking fireworks, parades, shows, and a whole lot more.

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor in Magic Kingdom‘s Tomorrowland requires quite a bit of audience participation.
Laugh Floor
You are invited into the Laugh Floor to help fill up a canister with laughs. As monsters tell their jokes, they rely on audience members to help with the bit and generate more laughs. One of the biggest (or worst) honors, depending on who you ask, is to be “That Guy” during a show.
