The Tambu Lounge in Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort is a well-loved spot. Known for cocktails like the Lapu Lapu (served in a pineapple) and the Backscratcher as well as single servings of ‘Ohana’s famous Bread Pudding, it’s not a Disney vacation for many guests without a stop at this little cove.
But change is coming to Tambu Lounge. According to Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages on Facebook, Tambu will close after the 4th of July and will remain closed for about two months. This temporary closure will result in an expansion to the lounge to add another well for a barterer, and also add a side station for a cocktail server.
Hi, friends! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re talkin’ PIZZA in Disney World… the best AND the worst!
Because who doesn’t love it? I mean, you really can’t go wrong with pizza… or can you? Thanks to the addition of a few new pizza joints over the past couple of years, there’s a larger range of choices for pizza in Disney World now than ever before. So we’d love to share our top (and bottom) picks with you so you can select the best slice — or pick the best pie — during your Disney World vacation! [Read more…]
Welcome to the “new” Rix Sports Bar & Grill in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!
So, why is the “new” in quotes, you may ask? Well, that’s because for a long time, this particular space in Coronado Springs operated as Rix Lounge, providing guests and convention attendees at the Resort a place to drink and… well, lounge. The name changed to Rix Sports Bar & Grill a few months ago. However, it’s only recently that the location has transitioned to a full Table Service Restaurant serving both lunch and dinner, as well as serving up a place to catch a game or two.
And it makes sense. You see, Coronado Springs Resort is in the midst of a pretty major transition which — among other changes — will ultimately add 500 rooms to the Resort by way of a brand new tower (which will also feature rooftop dining). And with room for MANY more guests on the way, more dining options will be required, too.
So we’re here to check out the changes while trying out lunch at Rix Sports Bar & Grill!
If you’ve ever visited Rix Lounge, you’ll recognize the unique entrance, which remains the same tall structure, but with a change.
It now says Rix Sports Bar & Grill, of course!
LOTS of changes are in store (and some are already in progress) at Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort. If you tuned into the DFB last week, you may have seen the in-progress pics of the construction of the tower that will add 500 rooms to the already expansive Resort.
We know that the addition of the tower will also deliver a rooftop dining experience to the Resort, complete with fireworks viewing!
And we’re also intrigued by the waterfront (or perhaps better said as on-the-water) dining option on the way, though less is known about it.
We’re baaaaaack with more What’s New! This time we’re at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where the Incredibles are popping up everywhere and at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort where tower construction is well on its way! So c’mon!
It’s hot in central Florida, and it isn’t cooling off any time soon. So you’ll want to keep your cool by sipping on a Strawberry Lemonade with an optional shot of Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum. We found this at the popcorn cart to the left of the Chinese Theater.

When we first visited The BOATHOUSE (caps official!) in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs back in early 2015, it wowed us with its quality seaside eats and charming decor.
We enjoyed it so much in April of that year that we returned in November to see if The Boathouse was staying afloat in the ever-changing landscape of Disney Springs. And it really was!
Truth be told, we still got a little sticker shock when we perused that mostly-seafood-and-steak menu, but with the food being as good as it was, we sort of got over it. So much so that in 2017, we headed back for dinner!
Yeah, you could say we’re fans. But even when a restaurant proves itself to be consistently good (with the exception, maybe, of that crazily overpriced, not very good S’mores Baked Alaska!), it’s our duty to keep checking on things to, you know, make sure it’s still awesome. So put on your life jacket and hoist the sails because we’re hitting the high seas at The BOATHOUSE.
Well, well, well… look who’s on hand to give us a little Sneak Peek of Pixar Pier, opening on June 23, 2018 in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort!
Edna Mode from The Incredibles — who, by the way, guests will soon be able to meet in both Disneyland Resort (starting June 15th) and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom (beginning Memorial Day Weekend) — started off a day of Pixar-riffic adventure, offering glimpses into all the fun — and FOOD — that is to come on Pixar Pier!

When it comes to getting a great steak at Walt Disney World, there’s no shortage of intriguing options, including our current favorite steak on property: the Wagyu Beef at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs.
And when you visit a steakhouse in the World, you enter with certain expectations for mind-blowing excellence. Today we visit Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort. Will it live up to expectations?
Yachtsman Steakhouse has a solid reputation as a place to get a reliable steak with tasty sides (and awesome pull-apart onion bread…). Located in the subtly elegant Yacht Club, with its nostalgic lobby smell and clean, nautical lines, Yachtsman is a convenient out-of-park place to grab a meal, being proximal to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
We’ve enjoyed our visits here in the past, including the Porterhouse for Two and a delightful Boneless Ribeye. Would this visit be as successful as those in the past?
The World of Disney food is a complex and ever-changing one, and that makes keeping track of it all darn near impossible.
Worried? Don’t be! That’s why you have us. 😉Here we will unravel 20 of the most prolific Myths About Walt Disney World food!
Our handy (and portable!) ebook guides make sure you get the best deals and can plan a vacation of a lifetime.
