There are a lot of unspoken rules in Disney World.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Don’t stop in the middle of the walkway, and don’t walk in front of families taking pictures. Do not EVER yell at Cast Members (that should be a given, you guys). But one unspoken ride rule that Disney Adults and theme park experts know to follow is there to prevent awkward embarrassment!
OK, we’re gonna come right out and say it. Disney World is a bit of a chaotic mess right now. In Magic Kingdom, two rides are closed for updates, an entire section of the park is closed to make way for a Cars expansion, and a Villains Land is being built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, two sections of that park are also closed to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land and a re-imagining of Animation Courtyard. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is doing a phased closure of Dinoland, U.S.A., to make way for Pueblo Esperanza. Whew.
Philharmagic
Well, we’ve got even more closure news to share with you. In Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, Mickey’s PhilharMagic is set to close on November 1st, while Vacation Fun in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will temporarily close on October 20th. WHAT IS GOING ON, DISNEY?
There’s a reason why Walt Disney World is known as the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” The resort has been the most popular vacation destination in the world for over 50 years and has crafted countless memories for millions of guests. However, that doesn’t mean everything is perfect all the time.
The Haunted Mansion Entrance
From unbearable weather to ride closures and massive construction projects, there’s plenty at Disney World that makes us cringe. Judging by recent reader responses to our query about things that annoy you on Haunted Mansion, we’re not alone in that. In fact, there was one thing that some of you mentioned that we think it deserves its own spotlight. We HOPE this trend stops soon.
Disney World just decided to drop ALL the news on us this week, and y’all, we’re still recovering.
Frozen Ever After
So among all the price increases on food and drinks, tickets, annual passes, parking, and more, Disney also dropped some pretty big ride announcements. Just in case you missed those, we’re breaking them down for you so you can stay updated.
When I’m in Disney World, more often than not, my feet are sore, my skin is drenched with sweat, and my hair is battling the humidity every step of the way. So you know which body part I expect will actually get to have a good time? My BUTT.
Space Mountain
No, I promise, I’m not getting into toilets here. Instead, I’m here to talk about ride vehicles! Some are surprisingly comfy (like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — kisses for you!), and others leave a lot to be desired. Especially over in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, where they have a serious ride vehicle problem!
Things are a little chaotic in Disney’s Animal Kingdom right now. There’s a lot of construction going on, thanks to a new land, Pueblo Esperanza, that will be replacing DinoLand, U.S.A. Right now, only one ride has remained open in Dinoland, Dinosaur, although it will eventually close as construction progresses.
Kali River Rapids
Well, another ride will be closing for months in that park, too. Kali River Rapids will be closing for a refurbishment on October 6th. So if you have plans to ride it, you’ll need to get to Animal Kingdom ASAP.
Ride closures for refurbishment or updates are pretty common in Disney World, and right now, several rides are closed. In Magic Kingdom, both Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are closed to get updates.
Spaceship Earth
Meanwhile, in EPCOT, Spaceship Earth is closed for a refurbishment. The good news is that these closure are temporary, and we now know when Spaceship Earth will reopen — on October 25th. Yes, you’ll soon be able to once again listen to Judi Dench explaining the history of communication to you while riding on what could be one of the most chill rides in Disney World.

Universal Horror Unleashed is a 40-acre immersive entertainment district and events destination. Expect horror like you’ve never seen before, “encountering unimaginable monstrous creatures lurking around every corner.” We got the chance to experience this new haunt, and now, Universal has just announced another house!
TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom, but sometimes I run into problems when I ride it.

Whether it’s the ridiculously long wait times, struggles with the lockers, or difficulties with the (in my opinion) uncomfortable seating situation, this ride can be a fairly unique experience. But recently, I encountered some problems with the lockers before hopping on the coaster, and I’m here to share with you the solutions I discovered!
We learned back in February that LEVEL99 will likely be coming to Disney Springs to replace the former NBA Experience, which closed its doors in March 2020 during the pandemic and never reopened.

We think LEVEL99 will be a great addition to Disney Springs, however, there is just one glaring problem — we haven’t heard anything about it in MONTHS!
