Disney Genie has been out for a while now and we’ve learned a LOT about the new planning and ride reservations service!

Along with a COPIOUS amount of articles (seriously, we’ve written an encyclopedia’s worth of stuff about Genie), we’ve also been cranking out a bunch of TikToks (TikToks are short videos you can watch and share on your computer or phone) talking about everything you need to know about Genie! These are great little soundbites of information that can keep you up to date in just a few minutes. Ever since Disney Genie+ premiered in Disney World back in October, we’ve seen quite a few changes.

For those who aren’t tech-savvy, it may be a difficult system to learn, with all the rules and different times throughout the morning that attractions become available to book. But today, we got yet another change — a new (and unexpected!) offering on Genie+!
Disney World is changing all the time, with new attractions, reopening restaurants, and ground-breaking hotels.

Disney Genie recently launched at Disneyland Resort — it’s a free planning tool that can help you map out your day through the Disneyland app.

Also launched with Genie was Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. Genie+ replaced the old MaxPass system with a paid system. It costs $20 per day, per person to have access to reservations to skip the standby lines at rides around the parks using their new Lightning Lanes (old MaxPass lanes). There are also a few high demand rides not included with Genie+ that you can pay for individually to skip the standby lines. And, the prices for those Individual Lightning Lanes just went up for the holiday season.
It can often seem like Disney’s only challenge is to come up with more stories for their movies and attractions for their parks.

But in reality, Disney (like most companies) faces all kinds of challenges as they navigate a changing world. Whether those struggles are with new technology, public image, competition, or anything else, Disney has to work hard to stay ahead.
