EPCOT is sort of going through a mid-life crisis at the moment, though we lovingly refer to it as a “transformation,” because who doesn’t go through a phase in life where you just need a little change? As part of EPCOT’s big transformation, the park is getting ready to unveil the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction, plus a new quick-service restaurant is opening soon!

There’s so much change happening all the time in this park (have you checked out our guide to the EPCOT transformation?) that it can be hard to keep up. Luckily, we’re in the parks every single day checking out everything new there is to see and do, so let’s take a look!
We’re getting closer and closer to seeing the huge EPCOT transformation come to life.
We’re so close to opening day!
EPCOT’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, will open on May 27th, and Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members will be getting a special opportunity to ride before opening day. Now another select group is getting an exclusive preview, and it includes SO MUCH MORE than just the ride!

We finally got an opening date for this attraction, so now we know that we’ll get to ride it beginning May 27th, 2022! Some guests, such as Annual Passholders and select D23 members, will even get an early preview of the attraction. We’ve learned a lot about the ride already, with some first looks at the queue area and behind-the-scenes footage of the coaster. We’ve already seen a lot things at the new attraction like the giant spaceship, the queue inside, the loading area, and the ride vehicles. Disney just recently announced the grand opening date of the ride, and some people wasted no time in booking their park reservations, because the date is now unavailable for a certain group of guests!
