VIDEO: UPDATE on TRON Roller Coaster Construction in Disney World

Now that we know when the TRON roller coaster is expected to open in Magic Kingdom, we’re even more excited about this future thrill ride!

TRON Lightcycle Run has been in progress since 2017 when it was announced at the D23 Expo, and it was originally supposed to open back in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Instead, TRON’s opening was delayed after Disney World closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction progress by taking a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Recently Disney announced that TRON would open April 4, 2023, and construction is moving along!

BIG Update on the High-Speed Train Construction at Orlando International Airport

We’ll admit that we were excited about the prospect of the Brightline train that would have connected Orlando Airport to Disney Springs.

This year, though, Disney backed out of the deal that would bring a train to Disney Springs after a considerable change was made to the train’s route that didn’t support a Disney Springs station. However, a Brightline train station is still coming to Orlando International Airport, and we just got a big update about its progress.

BREAKING: Opening Timeline For TRON Coaster in Disney World!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: TRON Lightcycle Run will open in Magic Kingdom on April 4, 2023. 

Before its opening, Disney is holding Cast Member, DVC, and Annual Passholder previews, as well as a ticketed event for D23 Gold Members. However, Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club member previews, AND the D23 TRON events have all REACHED CAPACITY/SOLD OUT. 

It feels like it’s been forever that we’ve been waiting for TRON Lightcycle Run to open in Magic Kingdom!

After being announced back in 2017, TRON Lightcycle Run was scheduled to open with Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1st, 2021. However, the ride did not open at that time and we were left to watch the construction progress in Magic Kingdom while we waited for news. Now, Disney has FINALLY announced an opening timeline!

NEW Photos and Details Revealed for the Moana Attraction Coming to EPCOT

We’ve been watching the construction of the upcoming Magic Kingdom ride, TRON Lightcycle Run, for some time now!

Located in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, this ride will be similar to the TRON ride in Shanghai Disneyland, and lighting will be a huge part of the ride experience. The canopy of the coaster will feature shifting light panels that change the ride experience from day to night, and today we have an update!
