There has been a TON of news coming out of Disney World today!
After a lengthy closure beginning back on March 16th, Disney World announced that they hope to reopen Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 11th, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th. Whenever the parks are cleared to reopen, guests can expect to experience several changes including new health and safety guidelines, required reservations for park entrance, and contactless menus in restaurants.
There have been a ton of announcements about the Disney World theme parks today, but there’s news coming out of Disney Springs as well!
Disney Springs began a phased reopening on May 20th, with select third-party shopping and dining locations welcoming back guests.
Now that Disney World’s theme parks have proposed a reopening date of July 11th and July 15th, several Disney World hotels have also confirmed they’ll be reopening starting in June for Disney Vacation Club Members.
The purchasing of park tickets and hotel reservations has been temporarily paused while Disney World prepares its new reservation system, but we did just receive an email from Disney with additional information for DVC guests.

Calling all animal lovers! After our early morning escapades at World of Disney, we stopped by Pandora today to see what was new and EXCITING!
We haven’t seen any new charms here since the temporary closure last March. We were ALSO on the lookout for any new safety measures Pandora has also implemented since reopening last week!
While plans to reopen Disney World’s theme parks are currently in the works, Disney Springs began welcoming back guests last week.
We took you with us to see several of the third-party stores and restaurants that have already reopened, but today is the first day that Disney-owned locations have started reopening to the public.
While we now know Disney World won’t reopen with parades, firework displays, or character meet and greets, more new details are emerging.
Since Disney World’s proposal took place this morning, we’re learning about more modifications that are being made to guests’ experiences upon the theme park’s reopening. First reported by WDWMagic.com, Cast Members employed at Disney World are being informed about a few details that weren’t shared earlier.
Earlier today, Disney World presented its reopening plan to Florida’s Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.
The proposed plan has been initially approved by Mayor Jerry Demings and has been sent to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. If given the go-ahead, select Disney World theme parks will begin to reopen to the public starting on July 11th, with the remaining parks set to open on July 15th.
Earlier, we shared that Chapek had spoken out about why the parks would be opening in July.
Now, Chapek has expanded on his initial statements going into a bit more detail as to why the park is choosing to open over a month after other theme parks like Universal Studios, which is reopening June 5th.
