One big change has been rolling out around Disney World recently. Do you know what it is?

If you guessed the new trash cans, you would be correct! In recent weeks, the Disney parks have been updating trash cans pair by pair to introduce new, solar-powered models. These high-tech cans have been a bit controversial among trash can die-hard fans so far, and now they’ve arrived in a new spot.
Some Disney Adults — and I certainly count myself among them — have a tendency to fixate on elements of Disney World that may pass under the radar of other guests, like cup designs, napkin patterns, or even trash cans!
New Trash Cans
This is especially true at EPCOT, where the park’s trash cans have gained cult status for many in recent years thanks to their intricate designs and some guests’ tendency to use them as tables during the park’s festivals. They’ve been celebrated in art and on t-shirts, and now they’re changing!
The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival will be here before you know it, and we’re pretty excited. OF COURSE, we’re excited because this year’s festival is bringing almost 100 new food items to EPCOT, and we are ready to try them all!
We love festivals, but finding a table at one? Good luck!
BUT…we still have a big beef with EPCOT festivals, and we bet you’ve probably had this problem, too: there are never enough places to eat. That means you pretty much just end up using the top of a trash can as a table, and yes, we’ve all done it. Well, EPCOT has made a huge change that could mean the end of trashcan dining forever.
There are some downright strange traditions that people follow in Disney World, but we approve of them.
Cinderella Castle
When planning a Disney World trip, it can feel like learning a new language. Things like Lightning Lane and MagicBand+, and all of the acronyms (DAK, MK, TTC, etc). Scheduling can be shockingly detailed, and fans in the parks certainly have some interesting obsessions. So today, we’re breaking down some weird traditions you’ll probably only see in Disney World.
We are proud Disney Adults, and that means we might notice things that other people don’t notice. One of those things was new trash cans!
EPCOT
While it doesn’t seem very exciting to some, these small additions make us feel like the parks are getting a refresh. We saw them in EPCOT, but good news — you’re going to see more.
This year, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has a new addition, and we may be slightly obsessed with it. While it is hard to beat all the delicious food and gorgeous flowers, this new addition is definitely making us smile!
2025 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
The 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival officially kicked off on March 5th and runs through June 2nd. While you enjoy the food and admire the flowers, make sure you keep an eye out for the very special new addition!

When you step into a park, you are immediately surrounded by wonder and delight. Disney has designed the parks so you only see the magic and as little as possible of anything else. You only see the themed facades of rides, not the back, industrial parts. You never see a character behind the scenes. And everything in the park looks as close to perfect as they can possibly make it so you can truly feel the magic of it all. But we’re going to apologize in advance, because we recently learned something that ruined us, and now we have to share it with you.

New Trash Cans
