If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, listen UP!
This free hotel perk just got 2x better, and you’ll want to make sure you’re taking advantage of it to make the most of your Disney World vacation.
We always want to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip, so we want to make sure you know about closures that could impact your Disney World vacation! The good news is that Disney often lets us know about closures ahead of time so you can be prepared. However, there can still be unexpected closures during your trip. Rides could have technical difficulties, or weather could affect some operations.
You can’t control or plan for those things, BUT you can plan ahead for planned closures at Disney World. We are rounding up everything that will be closed this week, so let’s take a look!
Summer is right around the corner, which means if you’re heading to Disney World soon, you’ll be in for some fun in the sun.
Well, summer is a great time to visit Disney World’s water parks, especially now that Disney World hotel guests get FREE water park tickets on their arrival day. Here’s the thing, though: usually only one water park is open at a time, so that’s the one you have to go to. BUT that will all be changing in just a few days when BOTH Disney World water parks will be open at the same time.
We always want to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip, so we want to warn you that a popular Disney World restaurant is closing this week! The good news is that it is only closing temporarily, but we don’t want you to plan a meal at it, only to find out it is closed.
We have all the details about this restaurant closure, and we are also rounding up everything else that will be closed this week. Let’s take a look!
Generally, when it comes to the cost of food and beverages, Disney World tends to reveal the majority of its price increases in the fall, but sometimes random price increases hit the parks throughout the year.
Recently, we noticed that the prices for food and beverages at one of Disney World’s water parks, Typhoon Lagoon, recently went up, so we’re going to take a look at those price increases so you’ll be aware of them the next time you visit the parks.
We always want to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip, and one thing you need to be on the lookout for is possible closures and refurbishments. We don’t want you to be disappointed when you roll up to your favorite ride only to find out it is closed for refurbishment.
There are TWO big changes to the closures in Disney World this week, and we want to make sure you are aware of them. Plus, we are also rounding up everything else that will be closed this week.
There are lots of things to love about the Disney World water parks: it is hard to beat a day relaxing by the water, plunging down water rides, and grabbing unlimited refills in your refillable mug. To know Disney World refillable mugs is to love Disney World refillable mugs. Well, for the most part, we still have some complaints about the mug. But it is wonderful to be able to refill your mug to your heart’s content while relaxing in your beach chair.
We have some bad news if you are a refillable cup fan like us, though. There is now one less location where you can find refillable mugs. The good news is that the mugs are still available at the Disney World hotels, but you currently CAN’T get them at the Disney World water parks.
Typhoon Lagoon is officially OPEN! The Disney World water park has been closed since November 2024, but if you have patiently waited to ride down Miss Adventure Falls or Crush ‘n’ Gusher, your time has finally come.
Typhoon Lagoon has reopened as of May 1st, 2025, and while Blizzard Beach has now closed for a short refurb, we have some exciting news. Beginning May 21st, BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open for the summer. Now you will have to choose which water park you want to go to! We still have a few weeks until that happens, but we are at Typhoon Lagoon for its grand reopening.
Another week has passed in Disney World and it will be May before you know it!
That means we’re SO ready to try out some May the 4th treats in Disney World (yay, Star Wars food!). However, we recently got to try out some new snacks in the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT (oh, yeah) and revisited Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We also kept an eye on Disney World restaurant menus, and we’ve got a few changes to warn you about.
If you are taking advantage of the FREE Disney hotel perk, you will want to keep these things in mind.

Blizzard Beach
In 2025 (and now also in 2026), Disney hotel guests get a free ticket to one of the water parks on the day they check in. This is a great deal because it is FREE and this summer, both water parks will be open together! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach open at the same time, but from May 21 to September 7, 2025, they will both be open. But, before you grab your bathing suit and sunscreen, there are some things you should know.
Our handy (and portable!) ebook guides make sure you get the best deals and can plan a vacation of a lifetime.
