We just got some important news about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland Park!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is coming up soon!
This specially ticketed event is TONS of fun! There are exclusive treats and entertainment, free hot cocoa and cookies, fun meet-and-greets, and lots of attractions to enjoy. Disney has shared a list of all the rides that will be open during the holiday and party, and we were excited to see Magic Kingdom’s brand new ride on the list!
Are you looking to skip the line on your upcoming Disney World vacation?
Over the summer, Disney changed their skip-the-line service from Genie+ to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane became Lightning Lane Single Pass. The new Multi Pass system works similarly to its predecessor, FastPass+. You can now book your Lightning Lane selections and view prices before your trip. Those staying at Disney World hotels can book seven days before their trip, and the general public can book three days before their trip. Multi Pass is also broken up into tiers. You can choose one attraction from tier one and two attractions from tier two to start. If you are wondering which Lightning Lanes you should prioritize in 2025, we have you covered!
The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and you are ready for an amazing day at Disney World!
But then your phone lights up with a notification that no one wants to get. While there are LOTS of notifications we would love to see on our phone (you got upgraded, free food for everyone, etc.), there are also a few notifications that we would rather not see.
It is not only Disney World that uses Virtual Queue!
Disneyland is no stranger to using Virtual Queues as both Rise of the Resistance and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure once used Virtual Queue. Well, there are still two Virtual Queues available at Disneyland: one for Haunted Mansion Holiday and one for World of Color — ONE. However, things will be interesting when another attraction opens at Disneyland later this year.
For the past year and a half, one of Disney World’s hottest rides has been TRON Lightcycle / Run.
The coaster opened in April 2023 after several weeks’ worth of previews, and it began operating during the day with a virtual queue to manage crowds. While the ride has had a bit of controversy due to its restrictive seating style, the virtual queue has still been a hot commodity that fills up fairly quickly. But now, Disney has done away with it!
Things are changing SO much in Disney World that it’s hard to keep up. We recently said goodbye to Genie+ (Disney’s skip-the-line service) and hello to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Even more changes are coming soon, too, with the addition of a Cars land and a villains land to Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. land and villains show in Hollywood Studios, and a land re-theme in Animal Kingdom. However, one big change is happening tomorrow on September 9th, and it’s happening to a popular ride in Magic Kingdom. So we wanted to remind you about this change so you’re not caught by surprise.
If you haven’t been to Disney World in a few years, there are quite a few new rides to check out.
From Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT (which opened in 2022) to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom (opened in 2024 and 2023, respectively), there are a couple of attractions you’ll want to add to your must-ride list. But if you’re hoping to check out TRON during your visit, we’ve got some important updates for you.
Y’all, everything is changing SO FAST in Disney World. We’ve even already seen quite a few changes this year, from the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the reopening of a newly re-themed Country Bear Jamboree.
But Disney World is JUST getting started with changes because many more are coming! Magic Kingdom is getting both a Villains-themed land and a Cars-themed land. Hollywood Studios is getting a Monsters, Inc. land and a villains-themed show (we’re loving all this villains love, by the way). A ride in Magic Kingdom will be changing soon, too, so if you have plans to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run on your next trip, you’ll need to mark September 9th in your Disney World calendar.
Have you ever used a virtual queue in Disney World?
For the past few years, virtual queues have been common for newly-opened Disney rides, starting with Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios, and being used as recently as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. There doesn’t seem to be a set “rule” on how long Disney chooses to operate new rides with a virtual queue system, but we saw Rise of the Resistance swap to a standby line after a few years when the initial demand had died down a bit. Now, another attraction is getting rid of its virtual queue!
