There are BIG things happening in the Disney Parks all over the world!

Disneyland Paris just announced a reopening date, Disney World changed its outdoor mask policy, and Disneyland recently reopened in California. But now, we’ve got some pretty exciting news from Hong Kong Disneyland!
It was a rocky year for Hong Kong Disneyland. The park closed in January 2020, reopened in June, closed again in July, reopened in September, and then closed again in December. It reopened once more in February 2021.

During that time, though, something extraordinary was going on behind the scenes — Disney Imagineers were building a NEW castle for the park! That castle, now known as the Castle of Magical Dreams, opened to guests in November 2020.
2020 was QUITE the year.
You may remember the day that you heard Disney World or Disneyland would be closing temporarily due to the pandemic — I know I do. And you might remember watching Shanghai Disneyland reopen, that park being the first Disney park around the world to reopen after the closures. But, did you remember that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened in Disney World literally DAYS before the parks closed? Or that several new movies in EPCOT debuted in early 2020? SO much happened in just one year. And today we’re breaking it all down for you.

Hong Kong Disneyland reopened on February 19th!
The park spent most of 2020 closing and reopening repeatedly. After originally shutting down in January, it reopened in June only to close again in July, reopen in September, and close AGAIN in December. It’s been a rocky year for Hong Kong Disneyland.
Hong Kong Disneyland was one of the earlier parks to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, originally shutting down over a year ago in January 2020. The park then reopened six months later in June, but only for a short time, closing again in July due to a rising number of cases. Then, in September 2020, the park reopened for a second time, only to close a few months later for the third time on December 1st. But, today we have big news for fans waiting to get back into the park.
It’s a day of celebration… Happy Lunar New Year! Earlier today, a special video message from Disney Shanghai Resort was shared in honor of the occasion.

These Earnings Calls give us a check-in on how the Walt Disney Company is doing through a release of quarterly financial results and comments from leadership at the company. During this call, Disney executives reported on the continued closures of several Disney parks.
