A major Disney infrastructure project just took a major step forward!
Several months ago, Disney filed an application for the expansion of the Magic Kingdom’s Ferry Dock, including dock expansion, hardscape improvements, and a floodplain compensation area at the ferry boarding location.
Disney World’s old Genie+ era is officially retired, packed into a crate, and wheeled backstage. The current setup is Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. So if you’ve still got FastPass or Genie+ floating around in your brain like an outdated park map, it’s time for a refresh.
Disney now lets guests using Lightning Lane Multi Pass choose up to three experiences and arrival windows in advance, while Lightning Lane Single Pass covers certain headliners that are not part of Multi Pass. There’s also Premier Pass, which gives one-time access to every available Lightning Lane in one park for one day.
Usually, it’s weird to think about the holiday season so early in the year, but if you’re planning a Disney World vacation, it’s a different story!
Disney makes holiday announcements MONTHS in advance so that fans can plan their trips and purchase their tickets with time to spare. We typically see these holiday celebration announcements a little later in the year, but right now, we’ve got a hint about a popular offering returning!
Disney World is constantly changing, and soon there will be some things to watch out for at Magic Kingdom!

Magic Kingdom
In 2026, we have already seen an entire land permanently close, rides go down for refurbishment, and construction feels like it’s everywhere at Disney World. As things change, guests need to adapt and change their plans and traditions to still get the most out of their vacation — even in the middle of changes.
Not every Magic Kingdom ride is worth the wait, and some of the most hyped attractions in the park are quietly eating up your precious park time.
With so many incredible experiences packed into one place, skipping the wrong rides can mean missing out on something way better. Here’s a breakdown of some rides you can safely pass on and the alternatives that’ll actually make your day.
Disney fans are many things. Passionate. Opinionated. Armed with screenshots. Spiritually incapable of letting go of one very specific retired dining experience.
And this week, the people have spoken.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is set to reopen on April 8th with a BUNCH of changes.
The ride is getting new blasters, new ride scenes, a new character, and more. We got the chance to check out the ride before it officially opens as part of a preview, and while we LOVE the new changes, we did spot something that we think might be a problem going forward — and it all has to do with the new blasters.
We have shocking snack news — that may point to even bigger changes coming to Disney World.
One of our favorite snacks at Magic Kingdom has MOVED to a new location. In the past, Westward Ho was where you’d want to stop to get a big ol’ skewer of candied bacon, but that snack has officially been moved over to Golden Oak Outpost — and we think we might know why.
We’re getting closer to the official opening of the NEW version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom — we’ve only got until April 8th to go!
Cast Member previews are currently happening, so while people have been on the ride, pictures and videos of the inside have been officially cleared to share online. Guests alike have been seeing all the details inside and seeing if the ride being closed for months has been worth it. Much to our surprise, we think we might have found something that most Disney fans agree with.
