The ride officially closed on January 13th for maintenance, and it will once again open later this year.
Sometimes you can’t just walk up to a Disney World attraction and get in the queue.

If a Disney ride has gone down and the queue has needed to be evacuated, you won’t be able to stand in line to wait (though you can stand around the ride if you’d like, but we don’t recommend that if the Cast Members are hinting that the ride could be down for awhile). However, there are a handful of Disney World rides that have what are called Virtual Queues, and you must enter one of those to be able to ride. If you’re heading to the parks this year and haven’t been in a while, these are the only rides we expect to continue using Virtual Queues this year.

There’s nothing like coming home from your Disney World trip with a bag full of new souvenirs. But, if you’re heading to Magic Kingdom soon, it might be a little bit harder for you to shop ’till you drop like you normally would. The Emporium is currently undergoing construction, leaving a large portion of this store unavailable.

While it doesn’t often get freezing cold in Orlando, it does still get chilly in the winter, and many families visiting theme parks don’t want to get soaking wet on a ride. This is why we weren’t totally surprised to see the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure line looking less popular recently, but we WERE surprised to see how long the ride’s Virtual Queue was available!

Disney World’s average wait times did see a drop this week from their record Holiday highs. However, drop is a relative term this week, as the resort’s wait times were still WAY above their usual averages.
Ride closures happen all the time at Disney World, but occasionally restaurants will close as well to be refurbished.

We’ve most recently seen hotel food courts close for remodeling, but now a signature dining location will be closing for about two weeks. This restaurant offers a character breakfast and a signature dining dinner.
